So this beer pours very nicely with a thick foamy tan head, great lacing, and rich black body. The smell is a little off-putting with a slight cheesiness and's really different from other stouts I've had. The mouthfeel is slightly roasty with that same cheese aftertaste. It's a little off-putting but not a terrible beer overall...probably not something I'd jump on in the future.

A - A dark color, but when held to the light, is a very dark cherry color with a thin layer of toffee colored foam.

S - Roasted toffee, mild espresso, and coffee.

T - Dark roasted chocolate beans, mild espresso, and black licorice. Leaves a lingering dark chocolate coating in the mouth and on the tongue.

M - Medium body and velvet smooth on the tongue.

O - Well worth a try, not bold by any means, but nicely balanced and very enjoyable.

The beer pours a pitch black color with a thick frothy tan head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a nice mix of chocolate and roasted malts. It's sweet with a hint of black malt earthiness. The taste is excellent. It has a smooth, chocolatey flavor with a mild roasted feel It goes down easy with a well hidden alcohol presence. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a very good IS. It's deceptively smooth with little indication of this being a double stout. A few of these could sneak up on you.
