Appearance: slightly hazy orange color with a 1" head that lasts a bit.

Smell: very soft orange citrus tones is all you can detect here.

Taste: caramel, mild orange, a bit of pine, and a moderate bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Crisp to start, less crisp at the finish.

Overall: an easy drinking IPA that won't overly excite the tastebuds.

Shiva pours to a medium-large pebbly head the color of ancient ivory; it looms atop a crystal-clear, finely effervescent deep gold beer leaving sticky, perforated bands of lacing. Head retention is slight but lacing quality and quantity are good. The aroma is light-medium in intensity: a nice blend of spicy/sweet florals and grapefruit with hints of perfume and modest alcohol overtones. Up front, the palate is a medium-bitter, quite tart citrus flavor with a hint of caramel. Mid-palate the bitterness recedes to a lighter level as the caramel character becomes more assertive; the tartness grows until it is almost acrid, but it is offset somewhat by the caramel and the very visible sweetish bready malt foundation. The finish is a modest hit of tart citrus, followed by the onset of a medium piney bitterness that shows a bit of grassy character and lasts for quite awhile. Retrogustative olfaction is yeasty/piney. Mouthfeel is commensurate with the light-medium body, and is slightly astringent; the texture is slightly creamy and very peppery from the over-assertive carbonation. (12 oz can, 35 days after pkg)

3.05/5: A basic but food friendly IPA; works fine when one is stuffing wings in the face

Nice clear orange gold pour with a nice citrus pine aroma. The taste is quite nice with a fruity base and a nice mild bitterness. The finish is a very balanced pine bitterness. This is a very good beer.
