Wayfarer is a slightly hazy, effervescent deep-gold beer that wears a large, pebbly head the color of ancient ivory; head retention is brief but lacing is good, consisting of complexly tattered bands and sheets. The aroma is light-medium in intensity: it leads with a minty/bready aroma that expands to a unique blend of minty/aromatic and tea-like herbals; the front notes are then supplanted by canned pineapple and white frosting with more subtle fennel seed and citrus. Modest alcohol overtones top the aroma. At the front of the palate, the flavor is a tartish, mildly bitter blend of the high ends of pineapple and citrus; the lower end of the fruit notes is strangely subsumed by an almost desert-grade dryness- I've never had an IPA this dry on the front end- that the hints of caramel malt can't budge. Mid-palate, the dryness eases up some, allowing the fruit notes to fill out a bit, but the hesitantly increasing malt character does little to round things out. The finish is pretty clean, showing just a bit of nutty malt, and is astringent and a bit watery on the back end; the linger is a quite resinous, but paradoxically mild, pine bitterness that lasts for a few minutes. Retrogustative olfaction is vaguely grassy. Mouthfeel is on point for the light-medium body, and is decidedly astringent; the texture is slightly creamy and quite prickly from the over-assertive, coarse-grained, soda-like carbonation. (12 oz can, 24 days after pkg)

12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.

Pale golden color, nearly clear. Great looking suds. Citrusy hop nose, light biscuity yeasty tones underneath. Extremely smooth, moderate sized body. Mouthful of citrus zest and rind with grassy resin flavors from the hops, just enough malt action to keep it balanced. Very refreshing.

Pours a slightly rusty-orange and golden yellow with a thing quarter finger of bubbles and a slight chill haze but otherwise clear and clean.

Lemony and orangey citrus fruit notes right out of the gate with a breath of tropical fruit and a whisper of bready toasted malts.

Orange, grapefruit, lemon, and tropical fruits dance on the tongue while the biscuity toasted malt backbone lends a nice sweetness to the overall flavor but still lets the hops shine. A slightly herbal/grassy bitterness emerges on the swallow, but is wiped clean before the next swallow and does not linger.

Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation, crisp, balanced.

Overall, during my visit to Green Man Brewery I enjoyed many of their beers on tap, but this one absolutely stood out and seemed like a familiar old friend reminiscent of a local Chicago favorite of mine. Needless to say I grabbed a few six packs before I left the brewery, but I can outright say if this was available in my local area it would be a staple in my fridge.

Pours a golden amber color with a small white head that goes away quickly. Has a more of a honey grainy smell than it does hops (this was a fresh can). Has a overpowering honey taste with some hops.

Date code I can't figure out.

L - Deep amber, clear, thin white head, minimal lacing.

S - Citrus and pineapple with a sweet/floral backbone.

T - Lemon, floral, slightly piney on the finish.

M - Light, slightly dry finish.

O - Decent flavor, easy to drink, nice low ABV. I could drink a lot of these in the summer.

One of my favorite summer beers, it gives me chills (which is a good thing btw in the NC summer heat) when the crisp herbal notes kick in. I literally have driven miles out of my way to locate places where I can purchase this beer. In my opinion, by far the best Green Man out these days and I've tried (nearly) all of them.

Hazyish yellow-orange body, thicc head probably because of a bad pour on my part
Bright citrus, grapefruit, nectarines, peach, lavender, sugar, lemon
Grapefruit, lemon, pine, hoppy bitterness at the end
Medium body, fine grained carbonation
This is a pretty good beer. I'd say it's on par with sweetwater's IPA. Smells more complex than it tastes
