Drank this alongside Oblivion and Sanctification. BLEW THEM AWAY. I know we're talking different styles, but this is near perfect.

Appearance: Pours from the bottle pitch black with a modest head that dissipates quickly.

Smell: acetic notes dominate followed by a small amount of fruity aromas. Aroma complexity increases as the beer warms.

Taste: Nice punch of sour from the get go that follows up with berry and fruit notes. Slight hint of oak mid palate, but does not dominate the flavor profile. Well balanced, especially as it warms. For a 9% sour, there's little to no alcohol burn.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with slightly lower carbonation. Well rounded feel without bite or abrasiveness.

Overall: For a first batch, Green Man knocked this one out of the park. Solid, complex aroma followed up by a similarly complex and well balanced flavor profile. This is a beer that I will seek out again. Hopefully the success of this batch will translate into Bootsy becoming an annual release along the lines (and volume) of Snozzberry and Maceo.

750ml bottle poured into a tulip

A- pours a deep brown-purple color with a small foamy white head that has short retention

S- smells very similar to a Flanders red ale, lots of dark cherry, balsamic vinegar, earthy oak, hint of cocoa

T- opens with tart berry notes, followed by by balsamic vinegar tartness, light cocoa powder, red berries, earthy wood, acidity on the finish

M- medium body with medium biting carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and finish

O- reminds me of a Flanders red Ale, only downside is the acidity level
