Another "new American porter" style... lighter bodied, easy to drink. This is an amazing, yet simple beer. An Asheville classic!

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.

Creamy light tan head, almost with a dark vanilla tone to it, but with two fingers tall in height and a soft little appearance. Body color is dark walnut brown with some light chestnut red highlights. Some see through quality to this brew and some clarity while looking underneath towards the head. Minimal lacing, otherwise a very solid looking beer.

Nice interesting nose. Soft nutty quality and hints a little towards peanut butter. Some faint dark charring roast hides in the background through a very soft aromatic body. Quite nice and simple.

Palate seems to continue the basics well, but lacking a little bit of depth. Light bodied if slightly wet, with a hint of milk chocolate in the mid palate. Washes clean but light, and has a bit of herbal sweetness on the finish. Slightly tight mouthfeel and a hint of faint flat carbonation to it, but also feels a little let down as there isn't much malt thickness. Little bit of roast character and some of that nice nutty flavor manages to coat and feel over the palate with a hint of peanut and chestnuts.

Overall not too bad, but lacking a little bit of depth otherwise fine.

Green Man Porter pours a black color with a very small almost non existent head. There is a nice sweet creamy aroma. The taste is roasted, earthy, with some nice smoked malt notes. Nice body, good feel. Overall its a solid no frills porter.
