Appearance: Pours a clear, rich, mahogany-hued body with a small, ivory-colored head.
Smell: Predominately fruity aroma smelling almost entirely and rather strongly of ripe plums with a minor backdrop of good wholesome alcohol.
Taste: Again, it's rather fruity, still with the plums and with a sugary sweetness. Light chocolate malt hint. Some warming booze. Finishes fruity with a sourish yeastiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: It's good! Different, yes, but good.

Got a chance to try this one at the source, though I believe it is under a different name now. Pours out a nice dark amber, nearly brown in color with a small head of off white that caps it off very nicely. Smooth and even the aroma starts to build slowly with hints of figs and prunes, touches of light grains and a nice mellow backing of bready malts. Subtle flavor, nice use of fruits here with a decent note of sweet, almost honey like taste in the back. Medium body and nicely carbonated it goes down smooth with a little fire left in the belly.
Overall a pretty damn solid ale. I could do this one again without a problem.
