Hazy amber with thin white head. Excellent citrus and pine aroma. Light body with loose and fluffy carbonation. Flavour is light malts and delicate fruit to start, develops some fairly subtle bitterness at end.

Appearance -
Pours a thick, foamy, two finger head. Pale golden colour, which is slightly foggy. Leaves a bit of lacing. Lively carbonation.

Smell -
Hop resin, pine, fresh lemon zest and grapefruit - citrus. Bready malt, yeast and bark. A bit subdued.

Taste -
Plenty of hops, on the bitter side, with grapefruit, lemon zest, apricot, pepper, and cut grass flavours being dominant. Cut grass aftertaste. There are also baked bread malt and yeast flavours to balance out the hops. Quite a refreshing and fruity beer with strong citrus flavours. Nothing too different to the standard APA fare, but a good example of the style.

Mouthfeel -
Quite a bite on the tongue thanks to the lively effervescence. However, it's not over-carbonated; the carbonation actually gives it quite a thick and creamy feel. Doesn't have the cleanest mouthfeel, but it is quite refreshing and thirst-quenching.

Overall -
Not a game changer, but a very good, widely-available APA on the Australian market. Smells good, has a nice hop-heavy flavour and offers plenty of refreshment. Very drinkable and a safe bet. You won't do much better in its price bracket.

330ml bottle poured into pint glass 18/3/14 from notes

A slight haze in a golden orange body, tiny suspended particles throughout, bubbles of all speeds and sizes feed a short lived finger of foam that leaves a few patches

S lots of fruit, a little melon, peach, pineapple, spruce, no complaints here

T fruity notes are toned down, more spruce and pine with some earthy woody notes

M lighter side of medium, leaves a little behind, bubbles cream it up, peachy pine finish

O my glass is already empty at this point so that should say something, a nice easy drinking pale

its not going to knock your socks off but its well hopped and worthy of a hot day session

Drank from a bottle that is about three weeks old from the bottled date, a good fresh example.

A - Poured into an American style pint glass, nice, foamy two finger head. Golden in colour, slightly cloudy appearance (wheat malt in the grain bill?). Looks pretty good.

S - Aroma is reasonably subdued, I get a bready malt note, with a yeasty overtone. Hops wise I get grapefruit (Galaxy?), lemon zest, citrus.

T - Immediate flavours are hop driven, spice, peppery notes, grapefruit, citrus. The malts come through with a bready, slightly sweet touch, supports the hop profile very well. Finishes nice and dry with a lingering citrus taste, leaves me wanting to drink more of this beer.

M - A nice burst of hop bitterness followed by a creaminess which then dry's out, carbonation is relatively high, a nice soft mouthfeel overall, great water profile.

O - I've enjoyed this beer regularly on tap and from bottle, I think it's a well brewed pale ale that is refreshing and highly drinkable, definitely a good session beer!

A - Poured a cloudy almost dirty pale honey colour with a one fingered head that retains well

S - Pretty impressive on the nose with loads of Grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, orange and a sweet candy or toffee apple

T - A little disappointing with the taste. One of those beers that has great aromas and promises so much but falls a little flat on the taste side of things. Still get some grapefruit and some bitter lemon, a little grassy that tapers off to a dry bitter finish.

M - Light bodied but a little over carbonated

O - Disappointed with the end result. Lacks that real depth in flavours and there is definitely better pale ales out there.

A: Pours cloudy with a nice dense cream head. Bottle conditioned.
S: Tons of lemon and some grapefruit. Bit of hay.
T: Lemon and grapefruit. Firm bitterness.
M: Nice mouth feel. Crisp finish.
O: Decent beer. I personally prefer more hop flavour in a pale ale.

On tap at the brewery.

A: Served a copper color with a tight creamy head that fades to some lacing.

S: Aroma of citrus, bit of fruit sweetness and some caramel.

T: Taste of citrus, caramel sweetness and a trace of fruity sweetness in the background. Nice bitterness and a dry finish.

F: Medium body, nice crispness and quite smooth. Nice balance.

O: Enjoyable beer that goes down easy. Good for a few.
