Poured a nice light brown, caramel color, fairly decent white head. Aroma was light malt with minor hop aroma. Taste was very weak with no complex malt flavors that I would expect from a Marzen. Very watery, not even really a decent hop profile or aroma. any malt was very one-dimensional and very ordinary. OK as far as style just fell flat to me.

Draft.Poured a large sized ivory head with fine-large bubbles. The body had very little carbonation and it was clear with a reddish hue.The nose was moderately malty and I agree with thedm that the flavor was hard to come to a conclusion on.The mouthfeel was tingly and smooth.

I had this on tap at the Mad Anthony's Tap Room in Auburn, Indiana. Came out a nice amber hue with darker red/auburn on the sides. Head and lacing were both minimal. Aroma had a nice caramel maltiness, maybe a little brown sugar, but no roasted vienna malts or anything like that. Taste seemed quite watery. Almost macro level watery flavors. Caramel is there and the finish has this wheaty dimension. Dry husks linger. I think this has been dumbed down for the masses. A bit dissapointing.

A- about a quarter finger white head. Mad Anthony kindof does this though with their pours. It is a beautiful copper amber color however. No lacing.

S- Smells like an ESB really. All of those malts that I am accustomed to in a Ofest aren't there.

T- Tastes lake an ESB with some pizazz. Pretty good. A buttery malt with a nice hop finish.

M- Light bodied it's an easy drinker. Pretty nice.

O-It is basically just a jazzed up ESB but I like those so it tastes nice.

On tap at Tomlinson Tap Room. Poured a light copper with decent head and little lacing. Some nice sweet malty scents, mostly a clean and crisp lager tang. Decent flavor with a slight caramel tone. Went down decently smooth, but not the best oktoberfest beer ever, and not even close to Mad Anthony's usual level.

Had this one last night at their Auburn, IN tap room. Poured a nice copeer color, very little head and ok lace. Did have a nice malt aroma, but not intense like a Marzen should be, it seemed a bit weak. Taste was what my nose had figured. It did have some nice malt and hop qualities, but it was too "watered down". It could use some more roasted malt. I could drink a bunch of these though. This would be a good introduction for someone who has never had a marzen before, but then give them a better one to show them the difference.
