The atmosphere is something like a college bar, thought there really isn't a college close by. The night I went wasn't very busy, but there was a lively mix of educated beer drinkers.

The quality of the beer was impressive. The black lager was flavorful, but not overpowering and the raspberry wheat was tasty, if a bit sweet. Both are worth trying.

The service was quick and friendly, but there weren't many customers.

The selection of about 12 in-house brews and a variety of imports was enough to give everybody something they'll like.

I had the potato skins, they were pretty good, not too greasy with just chedder and bacon, no extra foo-foo stuff like white cheese or salsa. The only sour cream is a sour cream-ranch dressing mix, that seemed odd at first, but turned out to be very tasty.

All in all, it's a nice place populated by people who pepper their conversations with words like "growler," "carboy" and "stein." A place where any BA would feel at home.

Granted, my visit was 10 years ago when Mad Anthony might have been the ONLY brewery in the Fort.

All in all this was a very disappointing place. Stopped by early on a Sunday while coming home from a road trip. Several items on the beer menu were not available (including all the IPAs) and there were no replacements. We split a fish and chips and the fish was soft and sticky. We couldn't tell if it was undercooked, too much grease, or some combination. The barrel aged Punkunhead was a nice treat but everything else was barely acceptable. Definitely not worth taking the time to drive off I-69 just to stop there.

One of my favorite local places. The beers are mostly solid, with a standout great beer every once and a while. The 2015 Anniversary Ale blew me away This year, they went from 8 or so taps up to 20, all house brews. The service is hit and miss, but the food is always on point. The beers are a little expensive for what they are, but overall I love this place and will keep coming back.

On a recent business trip, I thought that I would drop by for dinner. Located near an industrial area, the place has an authenticity and neighborhood feel that is comforting. Part workingmans bar, part college watering hole, and part pizza and sandwich shop, it is notably low key. Worn and comfortable. The food was forgettable...the beer, however, was solid. The IPA and porter were fresh, clean, and tasty. Prices are very reasonable, and the service was average.

There are so many craft beers available from nearby breweries that blow theirs away! Not impressed with any of their selections. Always the same selections. Nothing unique. Don't execute a menu that has too many choices. Unimpressed. The place needs a deep cleaning.

Stop #418 on my world brewery tour.

Sunday night near close. One bartender and a bit slow at first until the small crowd thinned a bit.

I did a flight of all beers which were good to very good. I recall the Mai Bock standing out as being very well done. I had the wings which were good but never spicy enough for my liking.

Would certainly stop back in next time I'm "in the Fort."

i go here a lot...I have the growler... I go for open mic night... etc.

this place has a great hippy pub feel.

the wait staff is amazing. these people do an incredible job, even when they are slammed

the beers are ... alright. I've had maybe 12 of their styles. none have ever been outstanding

they have 8 or more home made brews on tap. that's REALLY good for this town.

the food is fine. doesn't compare to granite city... not even in the same league as JK Odonells it's better than B'dubs or Applebees. the fried foods are hot and crispy, the burgers have plenty of meat, the pizzas have a nice crust (but take 35 minutes).

i keep coming back ... for the service and the atmosphere. and it's local. the food is always forgettable, but i'm never left hungry. the beers are always good and made on sight... my favorite of their beer is the winter Ale and the stout.
