Poured a crystal clear copper red color with about 2 fingers of foam that dropped into about 1/4" of solid off white head with nice lacing.

Nose was malty with a tad light roast coffee / toffee.

Flavor was light caramel with a slight bit of bittering followed by toasty/biscuity and a medium long, very clean finish.

I see some similarities to Fat Tire but IMO, it stands on its own and w/r/t taste, was right on style. Its not a barrel aged imperial stout but i don't think that means its an overall C or lower beer.

Carbonation was high but good, mouthfeel was a little chewy in a good way. Could put away a few of these but I think it would "fill" you up faster than some...

This is the 3rd item from Silverton I brought back. It claims to be an Irish Red.
Pours an expected copper/red color with an absolute ton of foam. Silverton definitely has the head/lacing down pat...although I'd tone it down a hair.
The nose is straight ahead and malty. Not much smell to be honest.
Initially the flavor has caramel, followed by just a hint of bitterness from the hops, and then a wave of toasty grains. The toastiness leads me to believe this was their answer to Fat Tire. It's pretty similar, but without the same fruity overtones.
Texture is a bit thick due to the foaminess of it, but it's not overbearing.
Grabbing a 6'er of these for a mountain trip would certainly be a safe, approachable, option.
Nothing challenging or exciting here, but I'm not picking out any real major issues either. If someone likes Fat Tire, this is targeted at them.
Of all the Silverton brews I've had, I'd say this would be the one I'd reach for in most cases.

a: tyranena curved pint, amber beer with a coppery orange-amber hue, off-white head shows good retention

s: lots of bready, biscuity malt with a light brown sugar edge, buttery caramel, some aged and mostly benign hop aromas, pretty one-dimensional and sugary

m: carbonation a touch prickly, light-medium, with a moderate body

t: big toasted biscuit body holds a load of fruity sugars - a bit slick and way too sweet in this context, applesauce and buttery caramel, bland hop flavors, no balance

d: the sweetness gets in the way here

Sampled on my honeymoon.

An interesting brew... a slightly hazy, amber brown color.

This has a slightly buttery aroma with warm toasted notes.

On the palate this has a chocolatey current running throughout, warm buttered toast (not the malty, biscuity flavor of, say, Fat Tire), nice balance with a sharp hint of bitterness that recedes nicely. Well rounded, but a few off flavors.

Despite the off notes, it carries itself reasonably well, and the mild chocolate notes are interesting. Be nice to pair with some mole.
