Strong malt backbone with a present hop character, not as citrus and hoppy as the American IPA counterpart, our IPA celebrates the more subtle British presentation of the style.

At the brewpub, pours a hazy sienna with a decent head and average retention. Nose is faint....what's there is very malty (biscuity and a little nutty) and a little earthy hoppiness peeks through. For an IPA (even in the English style) this is a fairly disappointing nose. The taste, however, is on point for the English style (though maybe a little more pine than expected) -- great harmony between caramel/toffee and biscuity malts and rustic earthy hops, kind of juicy without being citrusy (in either a bright or dark way), smooth and wet mouthful, carbonation is middling, not much bite from the hops but it has a fairly substantial body.
