Poured from growler into shaker pint (brewed Jul 3 2012).
A: Pours a slightly hazy pale lemon hue with the thinnest possible white head.
S: Lemon, citrus zest, and a hint of funky yeast
T: A straight-forward wit, but a bit watery/weak. Lemon zest, soft orange, musty/earthy yeast.
M: Soft and smooth. Slightly oily feel. Light body.
D: A decent and refreshing wit. Nothing too special however.

Originally reviewed August 17, 2005. On tap at the brewpub. Super cloudy yellow-white pour, with an oily residious white head. Light aroma of lemons, hexane, and bitter almongs. Sugar, lemon, bright wheat, fresh grass and mulled oats round out the nice flavor profile. Palate is sweet, but finishs strong with a light kick of hops and an almost tingly delicious mouth sensation that leaves you wanting more and more. After warming, the beer gets a little bit of sourness and a light metallic tinge.

On tap at the brewery.

Look - rich yellow color, unfiltered appearance, limited head and lacing

Smell - strong orange peel aroma

Taste - very citrusy, almost shandy-like

Mouth feel - smooth feel, medium body but limited maltiness

Overall - very good wit beer

Yum!

On tap at the brewery and then at home asap!

Hazed pale yellow, under an light head of frothy white.

Nose is loaded with spice, coriander, and a hint of citrus. Very nice on the nose.

The flavor, mellow orange and lemon, soft and mellow, Very easy to drink.

Full bodied, abundant texture and feel. A very good wit from Firger's.

Agreed!

Can't wait for the road construction to be done... F'n MnDot

This wit was served in a snifter. It is an hazy dark yellow with a smallish white head.

Nice nose of lemon peel, spices and malts.

The first taste is of tart citrus (lemon), a bit of clove, and a very tiny hint of metal. There is a bit of banana in the 2nd sip. The lemon flavor could be dialed down a notch, but it is tasty. Nice chalky finish.

Mouth is slick and smooth. Easy enough drinker, but FitgerĀ’s has better options in my opinion.

The original notes for this review were made while enjoying an adventure growler of this stuff at the base of a waterfall just north of Lutsen, MN, 200 meters from Lake Superior. So I will try not to let that skew my judgment too much.

Cloudy, straw-orange, off tinted color. Nice fine, silky head that was pretty frothy when I initially tried this beer at the Brewhouse, but lost a little charm out of a growler. The smell was spicy with a bready backdrop and a little lemon zing. Strong but not overpowering coriander in the taste, it balances with the malt after the initially burst. The taste has a good wheaty/bready backbone with tart fruity flavors like apricot and lemon. Definitely picked up a little bubble gum flavor as well. I'd say this beer is less about the spice and more about a malty wheat and lemon zest. Nice tangy mouthfeel. I originally wrote "dangerously drinkable" in my note pad, but what isn't at said location.

On-Tap at the brewpub: Super-mega clouded dull banana gold color, thin white cap which resides to a thin collar; big stringy globbed lace. Aroma is dullishly lemon zest, dashes of orange, bready, with some slight clove and yeast spice. Taste has a nice smooth tone of lemon & orange zest, lime tinges on the lips and palate are quite befitting. Light spicey finish with citrusy hop bittering blending. Pleasant hop citrused burps. Feel is medium bodied with a seemly fluffy texture. This is a nice drinker, mild but built foundly with nice flavors and textures. One to drink again and again.

hazed pale yellow, under an ample cushion of frothy white.

Nose is loaded with spice, a zesty, yet pillowy affair, brimming over with coriander, and a hint of citrus. Sweet and ticklish. If you disdain that particular spice, this will do you no bit of good, so there's your warning.

It's back in the flavor, but abetted with a mellow orange and lemon, very soft and mellow, and easy to drink down all the while.
Fuller bodied than many wits, abundant texture and feel...zippy, I'll call it, cause I said zesty already...didn't I? Well, I'm still saying "zippy".
and a pleasure to toss back past the tonsils...very good wit from Firger's. Yum, yum, yum.
