Poured a hazy, golden amber color with a one-finger, white head of foam. Good fruity aroma - green apples and pears. It some caramel notes, too. It tasted of green apple and pear with some sweet caramel. It had a nice yeasty spiciness. It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied ale.

Pours a white head. Color is a clear golden yellow.

Aroma: Belgian yeast, coriander, bananas, cloves, and other spices. Very earthy.

Taste: spices and earthiness. Kind of floral but more grassy. Yeasty. Bananas. I get some kind of pepper flavor as well.

Mouthfeel: dry and clean. Light bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Ends clean.

Overall, a nice easy drinking Belgian. Nothing crazy but flavorful. I'd give it a try if you you are in Duluth.

Fitger's Brewhouse, Seaside Single

Clear, golden color, lovely, soft, snowy-white head.

Aroma, citrus notes and light spice, with traces of banana and bubble-gum. Hints of Belgian yeast-funk. Lively stuff.

Taste: crisp, clean, and quaffable. Light bodied, with a lemon-y finish, matched with lean bitterness and quiet spice.

Very sessionable, extremely refreshing, but lacking something significant in character. If I were really passing a satisfying Belgian pale ale, in the single style, down my happy throat, it would have to have a greater yeast factor, a bigger Belgian quality all through the mouthfeel and texture. If I can't taste the yeast, I'm not getting the real flavor I should be getting. Perhaps the filter needed to be turned off in this instance.

The beer arrived in a snifter, a nice looking beer with a golden hue and a white head constrained by the conical top of the glass. The nose seems to be orchard fruit and spice, pear and clove as it were. This beer was very nimble across the palate. Biscuit maltiness up front along with some powdery yeast. There is an earthiness here to the end.

A drinkable beer, enjoyable.
