Collaboration with Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales
Blend of two beers in equal amounts. First beer was a blonde wild ale aged on Persimmon in oak foudre. Second beer was a lambic-style aged on Dragonfruit in white oak barrels.

Pour is lightly hazed pale golden amber with a tight white head. Nose has a nice yeast, fairly present leathery brett, notes of mushroom, some acidity and a touch of phenolic plastic. Mosaic hops come through, tropical fruit aromas. Taste is a bit fruitier, less wild yeast, bretty leather, a faint touch of yeast. There's a touch of tropical fruit juice, some lemon rind, strawberry, light acidity in finish. Body is a bit slick, well carbonated, lighter.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy apricot nectar color with a one finger head; clumpy lacing
Smell: As the beer warms the persimmon and dragonfruit tones emerge with acetic sourness embracing
Taste: Acetic sourness forward, with the malt assertive; subtle tones of dragonfruit and to a lesser extent, persimmon; the finish is moderately sour
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; puckery
Overall: I was hoping for more fruit here but this beer has held up nicely over six years
Thanks, JHE73, for the opportunity

Appearance- The beer was a slightly murky yellow color with a white head.
Smell - A nose of green apple was noted with sour hints.
Taste - My initial impression was green apples with sour hints. Persimmon comes through toward the middle of the taste. Dry sour sticks to the roof of the mouth in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel- The carbonation may stick brush away the sweetness, but allows the tart to cling to the roof of the mouth.
Overall - Battling the Jolly Pumpkin version of the collab, this one wins.

A - Light golden yellow, clear with huge carbonation, massive white head, very persistent, and thick clumps of lacing laying over the glass.
S - Acid is first, striking and harsh, but with hints of sour fruit and lots of oak. Definite interest, but the acid is a bit muddling.
T - Lots of the lambic in the open, huge acidity, which sticks around, but also a lot of other flavors come through in the middle, as the oak comes in, sour fruit juice reminding me of lemon, but without citrus. The close then narrows back to acidity.
M - Tart but not brutal. Pleasant while still big and full.
O - Lots of good work here. Delivers many of the elements of a lambic without stripping the tongue. And the oak, which can be overpowering, manages to stay a bit player here, which allows the fruit and the bugs to shine.

Pours bright yellow with a ton of fluffy/patchy head. Nose is only slightly funky with no acidic or fruity notes. Tast followed suit. Was a little disappointed that there wasn't a better fruit presence, but it was still sweet ant tart. Nice carbonation.

This beer was a letdown.
I was expecting the best of both breweries in this collaboration, yet what I got was an elementary version of what either brewery could offer on their own.
The signature sour that I have come to expect from Upland and Jolly Pumpkin was not present, instead replaced by an over-carbonated peppery beverage.
The dragon fruit is the only real flavor this beer carries, which by itself is somewhat off-putting.
For what this beer cost, it was very disappointing and not at all worth trying.
