Sour! But it's Upland so hey. There are plenty of tart cherries and some backing oak, and while the acidity is high, it's not too high. There are some faint roasty or toasty notes in the background as well, nearing coffee or brown ale qualities.

Appearance - The beer poured a murky reddish-brown color with a light tan head.

Smell - Wood and light sour notes were detected in the nose.

Taste - At The front, I thought of Cranberry Sprite. The cherries were not overly sour, but had a nice tartness. A mild oaky sensecame toward the back. The finish was not overly dry.

Mouthfeel - The dry aftertaste and low carbonation kept me wanting more.

Overall - This is a well crafted beer, definitely worth seeking.

750ml bottle from the May 2017 lottery release. One of the nicest cherry sours I've had the pleasure of trying. A great balance between sourness in the base Flanders red, tartness and lovely cherry flavors from the fruit, and some underlying sweetness as a counterpoint. The distinctive character of Montmorency cherries does the heavy lifting, I suspect, as a variety of cherry that I'm not a huge fan of on its own but that does lend itself very well to beer by not being one-dimensional in its flavor profile.

L: reddish brown brew under a moderate light tan blanket of foam

S: smells like you have a rich moist cherry cake with figs and dates and you are sitting in a barnyard after a soft rain

T: layered and complex flavors with mildly tart cherries lightly seasoned with vanilla in the lead. There is a faint hint of butter, traces of light caramel, dark dried fruit, spices and oak.

F: has a luxurious feel on the palate with a medium light body, a very mousse-like texture and medium high carbonation

O: An elegant and excellent beer

Bottle shared by Mark the other night, thanks man.

This one pours a dark-ish brown, with red tints, and a small head, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like dark macerated cherries, tart and bright, with some oak, plum, toffee, lemon acidity, and indeterminate spicing.

This seems to be a blend of different dark sours with cherries. The cherries come through pretty strongly, and they’re delicious, and blend will the oaky dark sour flavors of the base. There’s a pretty decent sourness to it, but not as enamel-stripping as other Upland sours I’ve had.

This is medium bodied, not really that thick or rich, just right, with a normal level of carbonation.

A really solid dark sour here, unspectacular, but very drinkable and fun.

Pours dark brown in color with a fizzy light tan head. Aromas of sweet rich red cherry a with some cherry pie filling aromas. Lacto sour aromas and hints of oak and vanilla. Flavors of sweet dark cherry upfront with lacto sour and hints of vanilla and oak. Medium light bodied with plenty of carb.

6oz pour into a snifter on tap at Upland Bloomington

Look: Half centimeter white head. Brown, hazy body

Smell: Dark cherries, oak, booze, acetone

Taste: Super potent cherry, oak flavor, back end spiciness almost like a cayenne or black pepper. May be due to the acidic cherries

Feel: pretty sour.. not overwhelming though. Spicy finish that burns the back of the throat

Overall: solid sour. Waitress said it's a mix of Dantalion and malefactor with cherries added
