Notes: We combined the sweet, juicy flavors of plums with the uniquely sweet and savory spice of cardamon to create this rich sour beer. Barrel-aged with our base sour ale, you can expect to find sweet plum flavors with hints of grape coupled with a tart, cardamon spice character. Light pink and yellow hues when poured, fruit and funk aromas, and layers of flavors will have you enjoying this bottle from beginning to end.

Murky purple pink pour with a pinkish white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is very herbal and lightly fruity. Taste is herbal, cardamom, and has some fruit in the background. Medium mouthfeel. Light tartness, not overly sour.

500mL bottle courtesy of ovaltine. According to the stamp on the rear label, this was bottled on July 18, 2018 and is 6.8% alcohol by volume.

This poured out an opaque shade of pink, somewhere between pink lemonade and grapefruit juice in appearance. Big, eggshell white head. Lots of lace.

Nose is of plums, grapeskins and cardamom, pretty much as advertised.

Taste is similar to the nose. Plums dusted with cardamom are what it tastes like. There's a white wine grape flavor as well, which I'm presuming is coming from the barrel aging. Some light vanilla notes presumably from the same source. There's nothing on the label about Brett being used, but there's a tartness that dances on the border of funk. It's mostly the plum and cardamom show, however, and that's not a bad thing at all. Finishes dry and tart.

Medium bodied, with a coating, actually almost "cottonmouth-y" mouthfeel.

I really enjoyed this. The plums and cardamom went really well together, and the barrel aging complemented things nicely without ever taking over. Great stuff! Thanks, Mike!

C: A light shade of red like a guava drink.
S: Light motes of plum.
T: Extremely light plum notes contrasted with carbonation flavor. Simple, drinkable, delicate but smooth with a light touch of cardamom at the end.
F: Delicate plum notes.
O: Decent plum beer without anything extra.

Just not for me. Looked great, pink-purple hazy color with a little fluffy white head and very spotty lingering lacing. But smelled too wild and fermented and sweet, plum and Indian spices and maybe some raisin. Taste followed the nose. Too strange of an aftertaste, too much bubbly carbonation. Not my style of beer but had to try it based on the other reviews here.

Fantastic beer. Pours a beautiful reddish pink, incredible chai aromas compliment the delicate plums. Tastes great, and also unique - tastes like Indian food, chai tea, a plum pie, cinnamon, vanilla, oak, and then really nice soft plums on the finish. Worth a try!

An outstanding sour. A totally unique hazy, murky, strawberry color. Slight white head that dissipates quickly. The smell is of plum, a bit of funk, a bit of spice. I don't much get the spice in the taste, but the plum shines, and the sour is very present, but not vinegary, which I thought a plum sour might be. The mouth feel is thin with a nice amount of carbonation. A pleasant drink.

Had at Upland Brewpub, Bloomington, Indiana, on 6-oz. draft into unique tulip glass.

In its milky-white pinkness, Prim looks rather medicinal, a quality not totally absent from the flavor, but this 6.00 ABV sour ale aged on plumb and cardamom in wine barrels is highly-interesting, tart, fruity and spicy.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 11/2017. Pours hazy reddish/pinkish orange color with a 1-2 finger dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tart/tangy plums, fruit skin, cherry, raspberry, lemon, orange, red/green apple, red grape/wine, cardamom, citrus zest, pepper, oak, hay, herbal, grass, wheat, and toasted bread; with lighter notes of honey, caramel, oaken vanilla, leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, plums, cardamom, oak, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/tangy plums, fruit skin, cherry, raspberry, lemon, orange, red/green apple, red grape/wine, cardamom, citrus zest, pepper, oak, hay, herbal, grass, wheat, and toasted bread; with lighter notes of honey, caramel, oaken vanilla, leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light yeast/cardamom/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy plums, fruit skin, cherry, raspberry, lemon, orange, red/green apple, red grape/wine, cardamom, citrus zest, pepper, oak, hay, herbal, grass, wheat, toasted bread, light leather/funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, plums, cardamom, oak, and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light--moderate increasing dryness from tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, fairly acidic/tangy, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited sour/wild ale. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, plums, cardomom, oak, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish, never overly lactic. Really fantastic balance of the plums, cardamom spice, and Brett/Lacto complexity; nice bready malt backbone and oak presence. Feels like more of a sour red overall, but not too sweet. A highly enjoyable offering.

750 mL bottle. Hazy pinkish orange. Small white head that doesn't last. Smell is all cardamom. Maybe a little oak and acidity. But strong cardamom. Tastes of tart plums, but the tartness gives way quickly. A little sweet. Less cardamom, but it permeates and gives the while beer an earthy warm tone. Oak lends to that too. A bit of a tart plum spike in the back end. High carbonation. Medium body, seems like it will dry out, but doesn't quite. It's a fascinating profile and pretty tasty.

September 2016 bottling.
Appearance: Beautiful slightly punk hued body with a decent amount of carbonation constantly bubbling up.
Aroma: Tart and acidic plums and cardamon.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Plums, sweet and tart with a loively cardamon spice that lingers. Such a light body with a little carbonation.
Overall: This one is a real treat! Sour, without being vinegar; tart and sweet plums and a helluva great spice to add to it! Just really well balanced. Superb.

Look is a murky light ice tea color. Pours with bright white effervescent head that fades quickly to a ring.

Aroma is cardamon, tart plums and a bit of funk.

Taste is cardamon and sweet yet tart plums upfront, maybe a little grape mid, and finishes with a nice soft touch of funk. Cardamon lingers for a bit but not in a bad way.

Feel is lively and ever so slightly dry. Carb is moderate to high.

Overall an unusually mild sour from upland. I've been enjoying their big sour bombs lately, but this one is smooth, complex and definately a little different. I actually rather enjoy this one even though im not a huge fan of cardamon.
