Notes:
Persimmon is a native species of fruit bearing tree in North America. Paired with Peach and Pineapple, these fruits come together in wonderful harmony, with each delivering their own wonderful flavors and aromas on a foundation. Dry hopped with Galaxy, inviting aromas of passionfruit and citrus hop character meet the nose alongside rich fruit notes of banana, pear, peach and mango. Flavor is mildly tart, with rich peachy tropical notes balanced with delicate hops. Finish is dry, with lingering Galaxy impact. (On Bottle) No two foeders are the same. Each of our eleven foeders create subtle nuances of unique flavors that are typically blended together before aging on additional ingredients. This sour ale is different. Luminary explores the beer fermented in a single foeder, Twiggy Sawdust. One of the first foeders we aquired, Twiggy Sawdust showcases flavors of ripe peaches and pear with a distinct lactic acid character. We then aged the base beer on Pineapple, Peach and Persimmon fruits, and dry-hopped with Galaxy hops, creating a sour ale with tropical fruit flavors and a mild mild funk character.

A - Pours straight, clear orange, with a short white head that fades quickly to a wisp. Minimal lacing.
S - Strong lactic acidity core to the nose, a bit of wood and an undefined fruit juice element underlying.
T - Strong fruit of pineapple and peach, a tart element that must be the persimmon (not a common element for me), and a hint of lemony citrus that might be from the Galaxy.
M - Brisk carbonation, moderate weight and a tart, dry finish.
O - A rock solid sour from Upland, with lovely fruit depth and a powerful pungent ride.

500 ml bottle, Batch U-18, bottled May 2018. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a somewhat hazy dark gold color with about an inch or so white head that stuck around a while. There's a small amount of lacing. Aroma is fruity and tart, the brew smells like pineapple, peach, oak, funk, apricot, lime, white grapes/wine and some grainy malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some lemon, green apple, mango and vanilla flavors. Like the aroma, it's mostly tart and fruity tasting. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was an enjoyable fruited sour, definitely worth picking up if you come across some!

American Wild Ale made w/ Persimmon, Pineapple & Peaches.
These fruits come together in wonderful harmony, each delivering their own wonderful flavors and aromas as a foundation. Dry hopped with Galaxy, inviting aromas of passion fruit and citrus hop character. Flavor is mildly tart, with a pineapple push and a rich peachy warming. Finish is dry, with lingering Galaxy hops subtle oak and mild funk character.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 5/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy pineapple, peach, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, red/green apple, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of pepper, oaken vanilla, leathery/musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, fruits, citrus/tropical hops, oak, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy pineapple, peach, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, red/green apple, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of pepper, oaken vanilla, leathery/musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy pineapple, peach, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, red/green apple, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/leather/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, fruits, citrus/tropical hops, oak, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly crisp/acidic/tangy, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. No warming alcohol for 5.7%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited sour/wild ale! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, fruits, citrus/tropical hops, oak, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish, not overly lactic. Awesome balanced juicy fruits/galaxy hops and well rounded Brett/bacteria complexity; great pale/wheat malt backing against acidity, and nice oak barrel presence. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

A: Hop aromas of tropical fruit, coupled with pineapple, peach, light pear and persimmon.
A: Deep yellow-orange, opaque, with a very thin white head that quickly forms a thin ring around the glass.
T: Lots of juicy tropical fruit, coupled with peach, and light persimmon, light hop bitterness with a semi-dry finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The beer is sour, but not acidic.
O: Yum; the beer has a really interesting flavor combination and the peaches, pineapples and persimmons blend well and are complimented by the dry-hopped tropical notes.

Pretty golden glowing body, slight haze, and foamy half finger of head down to a thin ring with some suds scattered about. Funky and slight tropical nose. Tons of peach pit. Taste is intense pineapple and peach, some pear. Peach pit is doninant followed wuickly by medium intensity funk, lactic acid, and a moderate-high dry finish. Not too much oak character but still a tasty and densely flavorful wild ale.

Looks great. Looks like pineapple juice. Small thin white crown.
Smell is funky with nice peaches and pineapple. An acid sourness to it as well.
The taste follows the nose well. The sour and funk mix as the pineapple and peaches dance together. Slight oak.
The feeling is tart and acidic with a huge dry finish.
Overall, I can always trust Upland with sours.

Look is a hazy golden straw and poured with white bubbly head that settled immediately into a thin ring.
Aroma is tart peaches, sweet pineapple, some pear or persimmon and some oak. Nose is fantastic. Pineapple really comes through.
Taste follows nose. Tart peaches, sweet pineapple, pear/persimmon and some oak. Taste is on point.
Feel is lively, crisp and slightly dry. Carb is moderate to high.
Overall a fantastic sour from upland. I would complain about the price point but I have yet to be disappointed.

Enjoyed at Ginger Man.
A - Poured into a standard tulip a nice hazy golden hue with a thin white head that fades to leave thin lacing and a light blanket.
S - Aromas of juicy peaches, sweet yet tart, excellent pineapple notes, nice and tropical. The persimmons add a nice touch and the toasted oak comes through lightly.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, very nice tart flavour, almost like sweet starts. The peaches are nice, good stone fruits, the pineapple is nice and ripe. There is a nice oak barrel flavour too, however, the beer is surprisingly yeasty on the finish.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, crisp, lightly acidic.
O - Overall this nose was excellent, the taste had great peach notes but the yeasty finish really throws me off. Unfortunate.
