This is one funky beer, but there is something addictive about it. It looks purple with luscious pink head. The taste is super dry, tart, and a bit sour. The main flavors are oak, barnyard funk, wheat cracker, boysenberry, green apple. An absolutely delectable light malt on the finish. Great complexity of flavors meld well together and change from the beginning of the sip to the long lasting aftertaste.

L: Light-dark red color.
S: Bretty clean fruit smell.
T: A very clean and dry fruit beer. Not much sour but instead a lot of berry with a dry finish.
F: A punchy but light fruit beer.
O: A very simple but enjoyable beer for any occasion

Served on tap at Melzingah Tap House in Beacon, New York.
A: Pours a cloudy, raspberry/garnet color with a two finger, frothy pink head, surprising retention and light, but complex lacing.
S: Aromas of dark raspberry, cherry, and (of course) boysenberry. Very berry.
T: Semiweet and tart. Rich flavors are a melange of the nose, but I would hazard that gooseberry has a role. Relatively strong bitterness consistent with the style.
M: Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Chewy
O: This is a very enjoyable Russian Imperial Stout. Cannot say I picked up the oats in the flavor or mouthfeel. Maybe a bit smoother.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/18/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red/light purple color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, peach, plum, cherry, pear, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, boysenberries, oak barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, peach, plum, cherry, pear, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy berries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, peach, plum, cherry, pear, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, boysenberries, oak barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness, tangy fruit, and spiciness balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness, tangy fruit, yeast/oak spiciness, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and bready/grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6.3%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited sour/wild ale. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, boysenberries, oak barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; not overly lactic. Amazingly balanced juicy/jammy berries, and Brett/Bacteria complexity; nice oak presence, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected. Their fruited sours are always impressive. This was not as lactically sour as most others.
