Notes:
Side Trail Series — Juiced in Time is a New England-style IPA that's absolutely dripping with ripe tropical fruit and bold juicy citrus flavors. Wheat and oats were added to the malt profile along with a special mineral treatment to the water to create body and smooth texture. Virtually all the hops were reserved for after the boil to minimize bitterness and amplify flavor and aroma. From the glowing orange appearance to the soft creamy mouthfeel and delicate sweetness, this beer is everything delicious about tropical fruit juice embodied in a dangerously drinkable IPA.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of peaches, light citrus. Taste is peaches, melons, light citrus, some resinous notes, mild to moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall, not bad, but I was expecting more.

Ah, the haze is all the rage. When getting it "brewery-fresh" they are usually all they're cracked up to be. But when canned and sent to retail shelves, unwanted changes can happen. As brewers like Upland borrow a few tricks from shelf-stable IPA and apply them to a hazy recipe, its results can be tricky.
But there's no such worry here. Juiced In Time pours with a worrisome goldenrod appearance, a shade darker than expected. As a creamy froth rises to meet the rim, so does a bold perfume of peach, melon, citrus and tropical fruit. Sweeter on the palate, the suggestions of honey, light pastry crust and mild cereal set a malty tone early.
But the hops soon win out as the tropical fruits of mango, papaya and pineapple rise to the top. Not to be outdone, the citrusy counterpart of tangerine, lime and red grapefruit start to emerge. With hints of peach, apricot and cantaloup keep the session juicy and rounded, the ale trails into a herbal late taste of sun tea, fresh cedar and peppery pine-like resins.
Medium bodied and trending malty-dry, the IPA finishes both off-dry and off-juicy, putting it in a pretty good place to satisfy both fans of hazy and bitter IPA. The ale lingers into a slightly bitter taste of fruit rinds and spruce for a beer that's the best of all hoppy worlds.

Darker in color with a light tan head. Lots of lacing. Nose was very fragrant. Citrus galore. Surprising how dry this was. Hoppy bitterness followed. Great beer.

Poured out as a slightly hazed yellow color with a nice head with a sticky lacing on the glass. The smell of the beer had a very nice hoppy aroma to it. The taste had a good balance of flavor from hops to malt with subtle bitterness in the finish. The feel of the beer is very drinkable. Overall I wasn't expecting this from Upland, I'm pleased and glad that it popped up at my local store.

Had Juiced in Time poured from pint can, bottom stamped "BB: 100820," and "PKGD: 070820," muled back from Btown by daughter, into nonic pint. I always enjoy Upland's one-off Side Trail IPAs, but they have long made me wish the brewery would release a couple of quality year-round IPAs. Juiced in Time started as a Side Trail beer and got promoted to a "specialty" beer. Next step, year-round?
Whatever, it looks great off the pour, hazy orange-gold with a thick head that sticks around well enough, and leaves some variable but satisfactory lace. Aroma is interestingly citrusy, spicy and tropical (melon). A dry malt base supports all the mildly sweet, citrusy, spicy (wheat), tropical and melon (are pineapples a melon?) flavors before a biting citrus rind finish.

This one is a hold-over from yesterday's New Beer(s) from @jkblr Sunday (Week 777). I was pretty well finished when I finished yesterday & both of us felt that this would be better served by waiting to recover from the day's RIS onslaught, rather than just jamming it in. After this, The CANQuest (tm) & I CAN return to the DelMarVa (+ DC) excursion, but for now, it is AIPA time, IndiCANa stylee!
From the CAN: "India Pale Ale"; "Please Recycle".
I have NO intention of doing the latter as the spent CAN will be earmarked for a trip over to York Haven, PA & Jeff Lebo's Brewhouse Mountain Eco-Inn CANlection.
I beCAN with a Crack! of the vent, followed by a slow, gentle C-Line Glug until it revealed itself to be an NEIPA, at which point all bets were off & I simply allowed it to free-flow. This resulted in the quick formation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with very good retention, taking forever to fall away & leaving great lacing in its wake as it did so. Color was a murky, turbid Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose was REALLY tropical fruity & while I had gone off of such things for a while, the wave passed & I have come to appreciate them again since I am not being CANstently bombarded with such CANcoctions. Think all of the usual suspects - mango, guava, papaya, passionfruit and you get the idea. Very juicy, but tropical. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full with a slick creaminess in the mouth & on the tongue. The taste remained very tropical & fruity, but as usual, I was missing any inherent bitterness. 8=( Finish was semi-dry, fruity & satisfying, but I longed for the inclusion of bittering hops. If this is your bag, so be it, but for me, it just was not my cuppa joe. YMMV.

Hazy NE IPA.
Poured fresh on tap into pint glass.
Looks like orange juice, but, with legs.
Tropical fruit and piney.
Malty and a bit bready.
Good example of a NE IPA.
I would order again.

BB July 2019
L: Very lightly hazed. Watery results 1 minute post-pour.
S: A wet juiced citrus/tropical up front. There is a solid malt aroma that kicks in late.
T: Melon, peach and a bit of citrus. Malt sweetness (very light) comes in with the aroma.
F: A bit too watery. It's not a juicy water ..just watery. Very light carbonation and bitterness.
O: A pretty good beer across the board. My only negative was the MF, and that wasn't really a negative.. just not a positive. If you are going to print something on the can about the date (which I appreciate), please print the canning date. I have no idea what the canning date is because a Best By date just sucks.

As the brewery describes, this beer is indeed glowing orange. Quite lively as well, and mildly hazy - not quite "New England" style in appearance. Head production and retention are solid.
Nose features pine, orange, lime zest, resin, pepper, grapefruit, papaya, lemongrass, starfruit. It's not bursting from the glass with juiciness, but it's deep and rewarding as you dig into it. Nothing amiss, either.
Very juicy on the palate, with low bitterness, low-to-medium sweetness, and modest dankness. Lemon, honey, mango, papaya, banana, mandarin orange, pineapple. Perhaps not as complex on the palate as the nose, but quite nice.
Lively with moderate bite up front, quickly smoothing out.

Pours a very hazy golden color with a thick foamy head. Head retention is good. Lacing is very good. Has a nice, juicy citrus aroma. Pineapple and grapefruit. Very slight piney resin. Taste is juicy. Grapefruit up front, followed by a nice bitter resin, ending with sweeter pineapple. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. This is a very good beer.
