A-Clear as day, light yellow, can read a book through it. No carbonation, two finger head that doesn't last.

S-Bland some straw.wheat, tad bit of grass.

T-Very malty, lots of straw and wheat, tad bit of grass, not bitterness, balance is slightly off.

M-Lighter, but not as light and watery as I was expecting.

O-Not sure why I bought this beer, it is avoidable.

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

Bright pale yellow hue, perfect lacing on top. Clean grainy nose, dried grass and faint herbal hop as well. Light bodied, very crisp with a clean palate. More than enough hop bitterness to balance this brew out. Graininess pushes forward in the drying aftertaste.

Love this retro lagers ... tall boy cans next time please.

Pours a pale, clear golden, with substantial white head and lovely, big spoke-like lace. Very nice.

Nose is plenty of malty grains -- corn, barley. Average lager aroma.

Taste is light, but with plenty of flavor. I get mostly toasty grains, but accented by a plentiful dose of lemony hops. A superb session pils with good character and a well-balanced flavor. Superb and well-done!

On tap into a pint glass

A - Beer arrives at the table with a very thin white head that is practically non-existent. This beer apparently has a head that dissipates incredibly quickly. The beer itself is clear and a light golden color with high carbonation based on the visibility of many bubbles rising quickly toward the surface. 3.5/5

S - Light and sweet overall with lightly caramelized cereal grains and a light grassy hop profile dominating the aroma along with a light pepperiness reminiscent of noble hops. Fresh white bread also comes out a bit as well adding another sweet note. 3.75/5

T - Light sweet caramel and Cheerios hit me right off the bat before transitioning into buttered white bread. Fresh baked bread, like the aroma, is also present as well as a bit of pepperiness. Grassy hops finish off the back end of the beer with just a light lingering bitterness. 3.75/5

M - Light carbonation burn up front which does not last terribly long. Not overwhelming carbonation by any means. Light and crisp but also nicely wetting of the tongue. No drying whatsoever and leaves the palate wet and thirst quenched. 4/5

O - Simple in terms of aroma and flavor but really a very well executed pilsner that is thirst quenching, sessionable, and flavorful. My favorite beer from Upland to date and one that I would definitely return to. The head was a bit disappointing but its lacking may be attributed to the bartender at the restaurant. 4/5

Tallboy can dated 3-16-16
Much fresher, and a far better impression of this beer.
Pale gold, thin skim and spotty lace. Bready, grassy aroma.
Lightly bitter with noticeable hop character. Dry grassy finish.
Light bodied, crisp and clean. Overall a great retro lawnmower beer.

Wish I'd seen that before I bought it.

Pours a hazy pastel gold with an ample head of foam. Loose bubbles fizzle away fast. Filmy pond scum skim across the surface, dead and glassy.

Aroma is skunky right off the bat. A little bit of mineral water and corn husks.

Taste is not good, stale crackers, skunky hop grass clippings. Smells and tastes like some suspect euro lagers I've had in my day. Light bodied, but a little slick and filmy. Crackery malt and grassy hops, all the right elements are there but the age seems to have degraded it a bit unfortunately.

It's drinkable but just barely at this point. I applaud the retro lager done right initiative by a craft brewery, but I'll need a fresher sample of this to really know for sure if it's any good.
