Nice appearance - dark brown with a big whiteish head. Aroma is somewhat muted, but what I do get is roasted and musty. Flavor is dominated by roasted malts....coffee and molasses with a touch of sweetness. A tad ashy, but nonetheless smooth. Feel is thick with soft carbonation...some might say luxurious. Finishes with a slight dryness. Abv. is hidden quite nicely.

Overall, very, very smooth for such a heavy roasted beer. Also scored well with several relatives, even those for whom it was "a bit rich". Yes, EE and GG make this guy a happy camper come Christmastime.
