Poured from a growler, hours after it's introduction at the pub, Blackberry Wheat has a tea-type tint, or maybe we can call it golden-apricottish, and is blessed with a head milky-white and proudly puffy, slowly shifting down to size.
Aroma is all fruit, all blackberry, none too big.
Wheat malt is taste, but texture is lacking and there is little complexity, little, if any hops.
Blackberry flavor never flags, but isn't forceful, either.
Very mild brew, but highly drinkable, and uninteresting.
But, rather than list the things it lacks, I'd rather praise it for suiting it's purpose well, as a substitute for non-beer-drinkers, an alternative to ciders or fruity cocktails, basically a "girlfriend beer."
Odd though, that it would be released in freezing February, rather than June or July. Maybe this is a test run?

Pours to a light copper-orange color with a minimal off-white head. The aroma has the smell of blackberries and also wheat malt. The flavor is crisp and clean with the fruitiness of the blackberries and a bit of wheat as well. It has minimal hop flavor with a slight drying bitterness in the finish. It is light bodied and easy drinking. This one would be a great summer refresher. It is an odd choice for a beer in February; but I see it may have been brewed for Valentine’s day.

This deep golden brew has a nice looking white head on top that has adequate retention. The aroma is primarliy fruity. Dark fruits. Sweet rather than tart. The carbonation is lively, refreshing and inviting. The taste is quite pleasant. Very refreshing. Nice sweet blackberry flavors are primary, but not overbearing. Not much tartness, but there is a crisp wheat-like finish. And the sweetness is definitley not cloying or syrupy. This is no wine cooler. This is a solid fruit beer.

I understand the release of this for Valentines day, but I would drink a lot more of these on a hot summer day.

One of the best berry-flavored beers I have had. The blackberry is initially very noticable, but as it settles on your pallate, it is a little harder to face. Refreshing, not too sweet. The wheat beer base really suits this well. One of the best beers of this genre I have tried.
