On tap at the brewpub...

Bright burnt sienna reddish brown, clearish. A tace of a yellowish head, flat in character. Laces in small dots and a light clinging coat, minimal. Malty aroma, toasty with chocolate and fruit juice. Mouthfeel is medium, just slightly sticky, with some slight alcohol prickle. To me, the flavor is slightly unidimensional, a standing molasses impression without accompanying caramel or butteriness. Slight treacle impression. Hops are background players, as expected. Silky, but with a slightly cloying umbrella drink quality, a little too much rum, aftertaste, and sweetener for me. Smooth and easy to drink however.

Pours a purplish copper with a little tan head.
Somewhat muted smell of...caramel and plums?
Taste is mild dark fruit, a little bit of caramel, jelly beans and a pinch of roasted malts.
Not overly sweet. Nothing all that great about the taste of this beer, but it is very very smooth

Pours a Russet brown...small white lace that spiderwebs the glass...nose is bready..doughy...and relatively light...flavor profile is malty, sweet...big on the bready/doughy it warms, some sweeter caramel like notes emerge....mouth is medium bodied...finishes with a very light hop presence..

Overall this is an understated Doppel...Nice flavors but not as FULL flavored as the big hitters...still a nice drinking, nice tasting doppel

Color is a deep dark coppery/mahogany with a miniscule tannish head and no lace. Aroma is fruity with subdued plum and dark cherry, solid sweet malt nose with a bit of roastiness and toffee to it as well. Taste is malty sweet and mild of dark hard candies favoring dark cherry, plum , and raisin, a touch of cloying toffee sweetness resides across the finish with light dry roasty touches. A nice treat to behold, nothing to strong; quite clean, mild, and calming flavors abound with a pleasing malt profile. Feel is about medium with a bit of a thin start but gradually builds into a chewy and sweet smoothness thats lightly creamy the whole way through. A very easy drinker due to its calmer tones in character and isn't overly bold or strong. I could easily sit back with a few of these, a solid doppelbock.

From a growler, after enjoying a pint at the pub:
Appearance: pours a ripe reddish hue, clear and bright, with a creamy tan head that slip away too quickly.
Aroma:malt greets the nose first, rich, fruity, a bit burnished and roasty, deep chocolatey/toffee tones interjuect among cherry-ish flavors. Hops are way in the back.
Taste: here, hops are brief and mild, and malt is rich, warm and all over the place. Sweetness abounds, and resounds all over the palate. Finish is tasty and nicely stretched out, body is nearly full, and bursting with deliciousness. Like a liquid candy bar, that's what we got going here. A very approachable doppelbock, not too strong, not too overpowering, and still not too sweet, but above all, exquisitely drinkable.
A great companion as we usher in spring after a nasty, wicked winter!

Nice shade of garnet to this one. Quite clear. A medium sized light brown head graces the surface and sticks around for a while. Lacing comes in rings. Aroma is bready and malty, a little yeasty and sweet. The body of this beer is about meidum-full. The mouthfeel is just has just enough carbonation to it. The flavors are combined nicely. Some raisiny notes blend with the bready malt flavors and light molasses tones nicely. Almost a little rummy characteristic, but not in an alcoholic way. More like a rum cake characteristic. There beer is sweet, but not too sweet. A good effort. A dopplebock that goes down the shoot way too easily.
