On tap at the brewery. Consumed with the Seven Corner's Burger. I was quite happy to see this on tap on a Wednesday considering it's only supposed to be available on Mondays. Pours a light amber/orange color with a small orange/white head that stuck around the entire time, leaving some average lacing. Very nice aroma of citrusy hops mixed with orangy Mango. Not much in the way of sweet malts as the sweetness in the nose comes mostly from the fruit. Flavor is fantastic! The way the sweet fruit balances with the bitter hops is phenomenal. It's sweet but not too sweet, mango flavor is present but not overpowering to the rest of the brew. Bitter, citrus hops balance out perfectly with the sweetness. This is a great beer, and I almost think I prefer this one to the regular Masala Mama. Yes. I like it that much.

On-cask at the brewpub. Ordered a 12 oz. glass before dinner and it was a tasty little appetizer.

The nose is packed full of fresh-cut mango. Damn, this is way better than any sugar-y mango juice or drink I've had. It almost tastes and smells like it's still a tad ripe, but its still quite tasty. I was hoping for a little more hops character, but as the beer really warms (it was already served at 52F) grapefruit hops and spice develops. Very tasty, very drinkable, try this beer if you like hops and fruit. This is the best hoppy fruit hybrid I've had.

Enjoyed at the brewpub with the FMonk, Al McArthy. Not much in aroma, mango neutralized the hop. Looks fruitier, adding some bulk and colour to regular IPA. Gives it some fruity to the bitterness. Overall its a wash and a change of pace. You have to chase down this one, even though advertised as always on Mondays.

happened to drink this beauty at the bar today for lunch. came in a slightly smaller than a pint (prolly 11 oz idk) big bowled white wine glass. had slightly understanted mango character compared to what i was expecting, however it was delicious. the bitterness was smooth and really flavorful. it wasnt a huge hop blast anymore but it was a great beer.

Appearance: Arrives at the bar with a hazy amber color; the modestly sized head leaves dots and shards of lace

Smell: Fruit juice aromas featuring orange and mango

Taste: After an initial hint of the biscuit, a growing fruit flavor of tart orange and mango takes over; the profile grows puckeringly bitter after the swallow

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with prickly carbonation

Drinkability: Although this was quite tasty, I was expecting an insanely fruity ale, so the tart and bitter flavors were a bit of a surprise

They've had this off and on for the past few months, but seemingly more off than on. Last week, though, it was in and I had to revisit it for reviewing purposes.

Looks and smells exactly like the Masala Mama (not a bad thing) but with a tiny bit of mango in the nose (go figure). I'm wary of fruit beers in general, and was a bit surprised that I was only picking up a hint of the mango in the smell.

The taste upfront is very much like the Mama, but about two seconds after each sip the mango hits and it hits hard, completely cleansing the tongue of any bitterness from the hops, but not coming on so strong that you can't handle the sweetness. The balance is absolutely perfect, contrasting with the natural taste of the beer but not overpowering it at all.

It only comes in 10 oz servings, but costs the same as a normal pint, so I didn't really want to keep ordering it. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop. This is truly a spectacular beer. It's everything you want out of craft brewing: a wonderful mix of creativity and style. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy...Mango Mama is back at TH.
I had only had this at ABR last year, so I was waiting for a real chance to review it.
Nice tan orange pour and a great head that doesn't go away too quickly, and leaves a ring the whole way down.
Aroma is perfect the mango really comes through well (not a fruit I am crazy about, but in a beer, mmm....). Nice hoppy aromas, citrus and flowers.
Taste is great, at first the mango really comes trough, but then a sweet candy like hop taste comes through.
Mouthfeel is nice, perfectly carbonated, with a great easy smooth touch, I would have had a few of these, but wanted to move on to something else.

Into a tulip glass, looks just like the Masala Mama, but without any head or lacing, and I couldn't twirl much into existence. The aroma was a bit tame, but a lovely fruity blend of hops and the infused mango. With a name like Mango Mama, I'd have expected this to go a little over the top with the fruit, and thankfully it didn't. It still is basically the same Masala everyone knows and loves, with a gentle touch of the mango fruit to sweeten it up a bit. A great idea, the perfect fruit for this. lovely.

This beer is out of this world. Up front you get the same fantastic citrus bitterness as in Masala Mama but then a bright mango sweetness sweeps all lingering hop flavor off the tongue for a perfect, even finish. It’s too bad this isn’t one of their permanent offerings.

Dark orange in color, no head, just a ring around the top. The body is a lighter, more honey-colored hue toward the bottom of the glass. The nose is filled with hops and pine, along with a sort of citrus/orange peel and grapefruit gloriousness, very sweet, but not as mango-y as expected...

The taste is much the same, except with a definite mango presence coming up over the hops and pine, and the citrus flavors. Very crisp, medium body and a little carbonation tie together this balance of bitter and sweet, easy to sip and a great taste. This was a terrific beer.

I'm sure this is just an oversight, but I can't find the "stone growler" option here...I'm sure they'll put one in soon.

Much thanks to Mike Hoops for this fine gift to the members of the Stone Growler community. I missed this one when it was briefly on tap, and now here it is, free of charge in my own very expensive ceramic vessel.

Hazed, deep amber hue, good, lasting white head, if small.

Aroma is ripe and green, bristly, piney, and sweet. Grapefruit meets papaya bristly and burry, but smooth. Remarkably complex and delightful,,,hops aplenty meets juicy sweet fruity.

Taste: WOW! The mango has taken over and holds court in all areas of the palate, with that pleasing Mama hop profile lying just below. Bright, green, then slightly bitter...a bitter hop/sweet fruit tango.

Delicious stuff, this. Easy-drinking, and bursting with flavor. Medium bodied, lightly bitter finish. No wonder this blew out of the pub in a day or so (it was just one keg, I heard, though).

The fruit infusion madness at Town Hall continues apace, but this isn't crazy, it's all out genius. As if my favorite beer couldn't get any better, here it is!
