rarely do i ever order an amber beer from a big tap list, but in this case it just sounded so awesome, and i am real glad i did. an amber beer, english in nature, mad with a boatload of oats, and the result is sensational. clear deep amber red in the glass, shiny and sexy, with over an inch of just off white head, creamy, good beer mustache! it smells just a little sweet, kilned and toasty, nutty, english yeasty, fresh baked, and grain driven entirely. a little grassy bitter bite up front, but then a nice caramel malt sweetness, an almond density, a honey floral radiance, and a smooth oatmeal body. yum! the oats have a huge impact, a different kind of sweetness and a pleasant round creaminess of the feel. the yeast is also right on, very english. incredibly easy drinking beer, with just enough nuance to stand out and be a memorable beer, even as an amber ale, which is hard to do for me. not overly carbonated, but more than a cask feel, somewhere in between on that, and real spot on for an english style ale like this. very little residual sugar even despite the middle of this, and a wonderful session type beer overall. these guys are on point across the board.

Clear and amber colored. Fruit and an otherwise clean malt note in the aroma. Tastes only lightly malty, good fruitiness and slight hints of darker malts.

The mouthfeel is rather thin and watery. Can't say it was bad but nothing was remarkable about it. A solid C beer.

Crimson Oat, Town Hall Brewery…guess what, it's red and there's oat in it. Let's look at it.

Dusky red look on it, nice cocoa head, slimmish.

Aroma: mild, hoppy, herbal, malty…yeah, that's a red ale, a bit hopper than you'd think, but mmm, mmm.

Taste: caramel malt, mild hops, some richness, some redness, definitive hoppitude.
Drink…CONSUMAble and delicious. mmmm. Smooth, oatmeal-enriched body, plenty of spark.

Not too much to tell, just another one of many excellent, and just a little experimental, ales pumped out of Town Hall and their talented brewers.

Pours 1 finger of beige head. Good retention. Color is an amber copper.

Aroma: Oats, chocolate, caramel. Fairly sweet and malty. Grainy.

Taste: More sweet flavors. A lot of caramel with some chocolate. Oats. Candy like sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and creamy. Medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends dry.

Overall, a decent beer, but a bit too sweet for me. Its not syrupy sweet, but malty sweet.

Pours a chestnut brown color with reddish hues. Nose is composed of sweet smelling oat malts with some caramel malt thrown in the mix. Taste is true to the nose, there is nothing more to really add to the nose aromatic notes. Goes down with a medium body and lots of carbonation. Pretty decent and seems sessionable.

Poured from tap into a pint glass

A- One finger tan head dissipates to a nice ring around the glass, dark blood red color, very clear.
S- Sweet caramel, dark fruits, oats are present, slight roastiness.
T- Roasted malts, caramel, slight toffee presence, pretty sweet, almost candy like, oats, very similar to what you smell.
M- Light to medium mouthfeel, well carbonated.
O- Decent brew, nothing too amazing or unique, glad I was able to try it once, but would not order again.

Draft. Poured into a pint glass a clear, dark copper red color with a 1 finger light tan head. Sweet caramel and light chocolate in the nose. Some roast as well. Starts with a sweet caramel and toffee flavor that builds up to a roasty dark chocolate flavor. Some dark fruit notes. Medium mouthfeel. The abv doesn’t show at all. Some lace. Lingering bitterness.
