750ml growler. Fill date marked on cap as '2.23.18'.
Clear, deep amber colored body. Brief fizzy head. No lacing. The second pour into the glass changed the body to cloudy.
Aroma of toasted malts, cherry, grape, oak, vanilla, and bourbon.
Taste is strong with the bourbon barrel. Nuanced with cherry, grape, and vanilla. The woody oak is there, with a good malt base. Just a touch of cloves but no banana.
Medium mouth feel. Okay carbonation (probably because of time in the growler.
The time in the glass has likely dulled the beer's true expression. What is left is strong with bourbon and fruit. A creamy texture is what comes to mind when drinking this, and a slight sting from the bourbon.
