Elves Elixir 2012, Town Hall Brewery. I didn't realize this was a brew that was new every year. I thought that was up to the Festivus series. Well, I guess there are two.
Fully ebon appearance, with a thick, lush, stable head of cocoa-tan foam.
Aroma: Soft and creamy, some chocolate, some fruit, a little raisin and fig, maybe maple and molasses. Hugely malty, deep and delightful.
Taste: Full-bodied, rich, fully textured, fully flavored. Begins big, malty, slightly sweet, with a bitter edge, ends on the dry side. A bit roasty, while not too much so, with a mild, hoppy edge. And that's an edge that I'm enjoying.
(Here's the official description: Elves Elixir, 8.7% ABV, A strong Beltic Porter is this year's Elixir with rich melding of dark chocolate, caramel, and cherry fruit notes. Keep your cheeks rosy!)

This beer arrives an opaque black color. The head is a half inch of light tan foam that lingers until the beer is gone. The aroma is of graham crackers, roaster malt, and tons of milk chocolate. The taste is roasted maltier than the aroma, with baker's chocolate in the background, and graham cracker in the finish. The mouthfeel is slightly lighter than full bodied with a dryish finish, mild carbonation, and a silky texture. Overall, this is a fine Baltic Porter that I would love to drink again.

I am kind of surprised no one has thrown up a review for this yet. Reviewed from notes back in December.
"A strong Baltic Porter is this year’s Elixir with rich melding of dark chocolate, caramel, and cherry fruit notes. Keep your cheeks rosy!"
Color was a dark brown/nearing black with a light tan head. Big and malty beer. A lot of the mentioned chocolate and caramel malts. Very fruity. Dark, dried fruits, to be specific. A nice dose of molasses as well.
Solid beer, but I didn't want to drink too much of this one. It sounded a little better than it tasted.
