Had this back in Feb. Review from notes.

Served in a chalice with a small layer of fizzy head.

Fake berries. Kind of dry. Taste is a little better. Very bright and fruity. Very malty as well.

Mouthfeel is a little tart. Fizzy.

This beer just wasn't for me. I didn't want a lot of it.

On tap at the brewpub. Served in a standard shaker glass.

Appearance: Color is a deep brownish amber. Moderate amount of bubbles and about two fingers of off white head which slowly fade into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a lot of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A very fruity and yeasty aroma with a big scent of dark roast. Big smell of blackberries throughout. Hints of Belgian yeast and a little pepper spice. Big malt aroma with hints of dark chocolate, roast, coffee, caramel, toffee, biscuit, wheat grains, and cracker. Subtle hop presence with some Saaz hops coming through. The blackberry fruit and dark malt come through the most. Pretty good smell.

Taste: Follows the nose with a big taste of real blackberry, yeast, and dark malt. Blackberry fruit taste stands out with a moderate sweetness. Spicy Belgian yeast with some pepper. Lots of malt with notes of dark roast, chocolate, coffee, wheat grains, caramel, toffee, biscuit, and cracker. Some earthy hops with notes of Saaz and a little grass. The blackberry fruit stands out the most along with the creamy chocolate. A really good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very creamy. Somewhat slick and slightly syrupy. Very smooth.

Overall: A really good fruit beer. The blackberry taste is great and is backed well by the dark roast and yeast.
