Has an auburn, fairly dark color with decent head and pretty good retention. Smell is nice and hoppy with citrus and pine notes dominating. The taste follows with a malty, citrusy sweetness followed by more hops and some pine and finishing in a rather bitter hops aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and seemed to maybe need a touch more carbonation. Overall a drinkable beer but not overly complex and a touch too harsh in the finish.

Pours a nice copper color with a 2 finger off white head that dissipates to a thin ring in about 2 minutes. Leaves some okay lacing down the glass.

Smells of floral hoppiness. A tiny bit of citrus. Fairly subdued, a decent aroma, though.

Taste is disappointing for me. A tiny bit of caramel malts, which quickly leads into some mild hoppiness. mostly earthy notes, with just a hint of citrus and spice. Not a bad flavor by any means, just not as strong as I was hoping for.

Nice carbonation level, a bit on the light side as far as body is concerned. Very easy to drink. Could be a decent session brew.

Dark amber colored with decent amount of head, lacing down the sides of the glass. Nice aroma of grapefruit hops balances well with a not overly sweet malt flavor. Taste finishes with a pleasant bitter bite at the back of the tongue. Good carbonation and mouthfeel. I would drink this again. Not as good as some of the more expensive IPA’s but not as expensive either. $2 a pint during happy hour, that would keep me happy for a while.

This is a quality APA. Poured into a pint glass, this provides a good, fluffy off-white head. Leaves lacing with every sip. The color is a clear burnt amber. The smell is very floral and hoppy. Taste is very similar to an Alpha King. The thing I noticed is that the hop taste is a little burnt. That's the best way I can describe it, it's knid of a cool thing that sets this apart from other IPAs/APAs. Leaves a nice smoldering biscuit flavor. Carbonation is standard for the style, finish is quite nice. Drinkability is good, I wish I had another! Very solid, New Holland.

As far as an American IPA goes, this isn't a bad beer; but it isn't a great one either. Decent bright orange appearance, nice hoppy aroma, and decent head. Where this beer can be improved is its balance. The Cascades are too overpowering, but without a backdrop of a firmer malt base. As a result, the finish is too citrusy which leaves a bad after taste.

The Appearance is pretty good, with a nice orange hue and slight head and lacing. Smell and taste are very good. Nice citrusy grapefruit smell and taste to start, followed by a nice blast of floral hops and just a touch of sweet malt. Mouthfeel is good, medium and oily in body. Drinkability is good as well.

Dark amber with minimal head and equal carbonation.Light lacing in glass. Not much for appearance, but makes up for it in taste.
Minimal floral and citrus aroma with slight hints of malt.
Citrusy hops linger in mouth.
Decent IPA but not on my "must have" list.

Pours a copper color with a nice head and decent retention. The aroma is of citrus hops and some grapefruit. The taste has a sweet malt backbone with some citrus hops over the top, the hops are not overly bitter or over powering. The taste is more smooth and rounded. The mouthfeel is slightly carbonated. Drinkability is good, you could have a six pack of these and still enjoy them. Overall its a good ipa, but its more of a starter ipa, its not overly hoppy.

Served on-draught into a pilsner glass in St. Paul, Minnesota. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a half finger head of slight cream, fair thickness, and decent retention. Semitransparent copper colour.

Sm: Quite hoppy, with some very light malted barley. A mild strength aroma.

T: Toasted malt moderate cream (especially on the finish), light caramel, and some hops. Fairly complex, but decently balanced. Built alright.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Nothing special. Fairly complementary of the flavours.

Dr: Pretty drinkable, and priced alright. I wouldn't have it again. Pretty mundane all around.

Copper in color, decent bitterness. I kind of get a slight metallic taste.
Nice hop aroma from the smell, a tad musty though.
It's fairs just okay for me, I probably will never buy it again but I'd drink it if it was given to me. I do like how they tell you what to pair it with on the back of the label.
