Visited Les trois Brasseurs on the 28th of December 2011 with my brother and my mother. Came in around 3pm. For the sake of the beer and the pub I’ll separate the review.

Let’s start with the looks of the pub:

The pub itself looks a bit old and cosy, a place you would visit with friends to catch up over a beer. They have boots which can seat 4-6 people and long/round tables that can seat up to 10 people. They made a table out of an old boiling kettle (?) which is pretty nifty.

About the beers:

They have 5 different beers on tap, la Blanche, la Blonde, L’Ambrée, Le Brune and Le Noël. I ordered a plate (?) with 4 different beers: la Blanche, L’Ambrée, la Blonde and Le Brune. (In that order). A short commentary on the beers:

La Blanche: A really weak beer with no flavor whatsoever. There isn’t even bitterness in the beer.
You may compare it with really weak lemonade.
L’Ambrée: The best out of the four beers. A bit sparkly, nice mouthfeel and a bit sour aftertaste in the end. Scents of cherries and other red fruit.
La Blonde: The mout (?) really dominates in this beer. A bit thick for a blonde beer and the aftertaste is quite nice.
Le Brune: The worst of the four beers. I only took a few sips before I poured it. A really bitter taste which doesn’t go away after you’ve swallowed it. With each sip it becomes more bitter and eventually also a sour taste.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t try the Christmas beer but I don’t have high expectations of it.

The last part, the customer service. I saved this part for the last because this is the worst part of this review. I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant/pub/bar. Here it goes:

After waiting 20 minutes at the door, we got a seat. After another 10 minutes waiting at the bar no one took our order. I went to one bar (they have two) and asked the lady if I could order. She waved me away and mumbled: other bar. I went to the other bar and 1 minute later the same lady came up and took my order. After another long wait we finally got our beers. The waiter apparently didn’t know what the definition of a smile was because all he could do was look angry at us. After 5 minutes he came back, put the bill down on the table and rubbed his fingers (making the gesture: pay up), he then proceeded to walk away and came back after 15 minutes to collect the money. We saw other guests walking out of the door because they didn’t get served. We saw a guest throw his beer at the waiter that served us because he served a glass with more head than beer. We saw other waiters walk around with glasses in their hands and the bill in their mouth.

Don’t go here, I don’t believe this might be a bad day for them. They treat the customers like shit, they don’t know personal hygiene (c’mon, who puts the bill in their mouth to carry around and then gives it to the customer?)
