12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 1/14/2015. Pours hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Incredible appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light banana, clove, wheat, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops, pale malt, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light banana, clove, wheat, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-monderate pine/grassy bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, light pine, light banana, clove, wheat, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness and complexity of citrus hops, bready malt, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent hoppy pale wheat ale style. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus hops, pale malt, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Saugatuck Brewing Company - Starburst Wheat. 5.1% ABV. 3oz sample pour in mini mug.

Look: Golden bodied, fading to light orange.

Smell: Definite wheat aroma, along with some sweet grapefruit.

Feel: Easy to tell its a wheat. Full bodied and creamy.

Taste: Strong wheat backbone, with lots of fruit flavor from grapefruit and citrus.

Overall: Had at the Firkin Fest 2016 in Ashland, KY. I've only had one beer from Saugatuck before this, and it was good enough to give something else a try. Glad I did, because this actually really good. Great balance of wheat and fruit.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid little quencher pours a
lightly hazy golden amber color with a nice head of white foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and features nice lacing. Nose of honey
malts, soft wheat, lemon zest, pine touched hops, and a touch of cracker.
Flavors follow the nose with honey malts and an assertive pine and citrus
laden hop note surrounded with cracker and breaded malt notes. Nice
mouth feel; medium high carbonation, medium body, and a lightly dry
finish of tart citrus and herbal hop notes.

Overall, this is somewhat reminiscent of a pale wheat and a saison
blend. Would be the right stuff on a hot summer day after mowing the
lawn.

Cheers

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Yes, a rare bottle from woody. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, wheat. Taste is citrus, wheat, tropical fruits, highly refreshing. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a smooth and easy drinking beer.

Starburst Wheat - Saugatuck Brewing Company. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, this beer's head is two fingers thick with web-like lacing and a hazy golden body.

Smells like a nice, bright mix of pine and tropical tasting hops with a touch of citrus.

I taste, you've guessed it: that mix of pine and tropical hops with a touch of citrus. Also in this mix is the revered citrus hop taste. These are all fairly mild and do not assault the palate. I could see this being a top notch summer brew.

The mouthfeel of this brew is clean and refreshing. A very effective quencher IMO.

Overall, I'll give Starburst Wheat - Saugatuck Brewing Company a 4.25. As I've seen other reviews state, this COULD of had an ever-so- slightly fuller body resulting in a higher score. But this most will most certainly suffice. Hope this is around next summer, as I've reviewed this on a rather brisk Ohio autumn day.

My second beer from you guys is a wheat ale, and American pale wheat ale at that. A strong forget me about an inch and a half of like 10 head body is a hazing gold in color. The nose smells of citrus, wheat, and a bit of pickles. The flavor is very clean and include some grassy hop based notes on the back of the tongue. This beer is incredibly easy to drink and go down very smoothly. Is not cloying at all and would make for a very good summer sipper. This is over alla solid beer for the style.

I picked this up at the Binny's store in Bloomingdale, IL as part of a build-your-own six pack for $9.99, making this single 12oz brown bottle $1.67. It had a clearly marked expiration date of 6/2/15 stamped on the bottle, and this is already November of '15, so this one is already a few months past its prime.

The beer poured a solid gold color and was very cloudy, which is expected with a wheat beer. There was a 2-finger whispy white head on top that lasted a few minutes and left a decent amount of lacing.

The beer smelled like wheat, tropical fruit, and citrus hops.

This tastes pretty much like it smells. Good wheat base with lots of tropical fruit flavors plus a touch of tangerine and grapefruit citrus. Hoppier than most wheat ales, but at just 25 IBUs it isn't overly bitter either.

Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Very refreshing.

This is a good beer. I can only imagine how much better it might have been had I been given a fresher bottle.
