Decided to drop in after the grad student "social" (Aka pizza and blue moon) and see what they had to offer. Looks like any other bar initially, clean, fairly open if narrow at points, smells fresh, and what is this? 9 beers on tap, NONE are BMC. Really surprising for a college bar. Looks like 5 taps are German, 4 are local micros. I kinda dig this place. Good veggie burger selection, the rest is greasy German fare and bar food. Service is a bit negligent, some of the patrons look 21 years old and one day, but other than that I'll be coming back for sure. I've been here half an hour and Led Zepplin has been on play almost constantly, seeing as how I've been on a Led kick all summer this place gets bonus points. Edit: I just saw the bartender hose off the glass that sloppe over with beer, sorry but sticky glass is a bad thing in my book, extra .5 on the quality for that move!

Shultzy's is a German bar/restaurant conveniently located across from the Big Time right on the Ave. It's a great place to get a liter of beer (the only civilized size); they've got 11 taps of mostly German beers and a few local offerings. There are also a couple ciders for the non-beer quaffers among us. I usually get a liter of Köstritzer schwarzbier when I'm there; it goes great with the sausages, cheesesteaks and other tasty fare they offer.

With just 11 taps, there's nothing hugely exotic here, but the atmosphere and food are great.

A small/mediumish-sized place that's always packed or close to it, especially at night. If you like the anonymity of the dull roar of a crowd rendering your conversation inaudible to everyone beyond your table, then this is the right vibe for you. The tables are large wooden benches with coat hooks on the outside. There is always a good selection of excellent German beer on tap and the taps rotate every day. The food's good, their sausage is especially good.

A: Nearly right across the street from Big Time it is a nice, quaint spot which is a little tight, nice decor, TVs on the wall blasting soccer or futbol. Walking in the place is sordove narrow which opens up to the end of the bar which is on the left, toward the back walking in.

Q: Average. I did try an infected Skagit River Unkel D which I brought to the servers attention. The staff is not doing quality control on its products or they are keeping dirty lines.

S: Service was nice enough. I did have to explain why or how I knew the Unkel D was infected, he then presented a bewildered look.

S:The lineup was alright. Nothing special on the selection

F: No try unfortunately
