Poured into an oversized wine glass a dull slightly hazed lighter golden with just a hint of orange in the body,a thin white head atop.Funk stood out in the nose wich was a little unexpected, some citric aromas as well as a tinge of iron. Some good acidity on the palate wich is matched a somewhat sweet vanilla tinge, the funk is almost non present,a little grainy in the finish. The flavors have some complexity wich saves this beer,I am guessing it's food friendly as long as it's food on the lighter side.Iam starting to get into the French biere de garde style,I like the less funked out versions wich this is on the borderline.

Clear pale color with white head. Sweet, yeasty aroma. Taste is clean, kind of lager-ish at first but the fruity notes from the yeast come afterwards. Overall it's a decent beer but nothing special.

Nice robust flavor on this brew. Hazy, golden color with oily beige head. Heavy malt aroma, and taste is sharp and biting, with nice crisp finish. A gem!

A: Blonde with a white head, good retention, great lace.

S: Hints of earth & barnyard funk up front, candied pineapple, dried mango and papaya

T: Papaya, mango, candied pineapple, wheaty biscuit, grassy, hints of earth and maybe a little Brett, good bitterness, alcohol is well hidden.

M: This all-malt brew isn't as dry as I expected, very smooth, almost creamy with a good carbonation (the cap popped like champagne and the bottle gushed).

D/O: An all around good brew, but definitely pricy at over $10 at BC Liquor.

11.2 oz. bottle, nice to see another biere de garde around,

A: Pours a deep goldenrod with a medium white head, good lace.

S: Citrus, yeast, bready malt.

T: Has a real yeasty flavour, citrus/tangerine, white pepper, with some rosemary and herb character.

M: Medium-bodied, smooth, crisp carbonaton, easy drinking.

O: A very solid biere de garde. Didn't know what to expect, but I'm always excited by a new version of this style, especially from France, well done.

Pours a cloudy pink tinged orange-gold with two fingers thick creamy white head that settles to a thin ring; slowly, with delicate rings of lace halfway down the glass. Smell: toasted bread, caramel, butter note, fruity (cooked apple, pear), mildly herbal and earthy. Taste: caramel apple, toasted grain, twangy, honey, bold earthy and mildly evergreen-y hopping. Medium bodied, finish is drying, earthy, with overripe nectarine note and clean bitterness. Nice.

Sorry but this comment is in french :

Appearance : bière blonde, dorée, limpide avec un léger trouble
Smell : céréales, levures, épices
Taste & Mouthfell : attaque mouelleuse, vire relevé par une belle amertume. Structure puissante et élégante à la fois, tapissant bien le palais, notes maltées. Finale suave, presque doucereuse, étonnante persistance en bouche après la dernière gorgée
Drinkability : une bonne bière de garde

Pours honey gold with a decent head that has some retention. Nice clingy lace.

Some honey aromas and some sweet stone fruit, apricot.

A little muddled, with yeasty malt, some overripe fruit, booze, husk bitterness. Not very transitional, but more like all flavors at once.

Medium boy, nice carbonation.

Just ok. A little disjointed and comes off as mushy fruit with some booze.

A: nice, light brown color, clear
S: mild nose, a bit of earthiness and grain but very slight
T: decent but lacks character - balanced but a bit on the sweeter side, slight hop finish, average beer
M: average mouthfeel but sweet-side is distracting
D: OK for new people to beer scene

On-tap at Deep Ellum for the Pre-Festival Throwdown Party featuring numerous rare European beers. Served in a tulip glass.

A- Slightly brownish golden blonde with about a finger of head that has good retention. A fair amount of carbonation bubbles rising from the bottom in a tubular circular formation. Decent amount of lacing.

S- Lightly citrus hops, a little bit of bready malt, a little bit of honey, some faint yeasty smells apparent, with some barnyard funk in the background- hay, grass, etc.. About average to a little above average aroma strength.

T- Dry hops with a light citrus taste (orange, mango papaya), some light spices, a little bit of honey, and a little bit grassy. An interesting taste that grew on me the more I drank it.

M- Medium bodied, average carbonation, easily drinkable, finishes a little bit dry.

O- This was an interesting beer that I'm glad I had the chance to try. At $9/12 ounce serving, I'm not sure if I'd order it again (probably won't have the chance anyways), but it was definitely worth the try. I recommend giving it a try, you may or may not like it.

A clear, golden beer with a thick, stable head. Lots of carbonation.

Smell is hoppy and has a saison-ish smell. Very attractive and mout watering. The yeast adds a complex, slighty corky smell. The hops smell noble and a little earthy.

Taste is nicely hoppy. Bitterness is medium. I expected it to be more bitter. Mouthfeel is dry, but leaves enough body. The malt is a little caramellic, maybe a little dextrinous. This beer has a good balance. It is very drinkable and a nice example for the style.
