Pours a clear light amber with a 2 finger thick fluffy white head; a few rings on the glass. Smell: musty grain, floral. Sweet with apricot and herbal in the back. Taste: lots of semi-sweet and grainy pale/pils with notes of toasted grain and honey. Juicy peach with spicy and herbal hopping. Active pillowy carbonation. Finishes dry and slightly sticky with peach skin and a note of earth. Excellent!

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, fruit, white grape juice, and spice aromas. Taste is much the same with white grape juice, spice, and yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

Slightly sweet, rich flavored, and spicy beer. Hazy light amber in the wine glass. Long lasting head and quite spritzy to the last half glass. Rather fruity with hints of pineapple along with a spicy bitter tang. Medium body. Quite yeasty-- you would not call it "crisp." Mouth-filling with a touch of caramel along with the tangy flavors.

This whole style is quite interesting and I would benefit from tasting more examples. Richer than most Saisons but has a family resemblance with the Belgian yeast flavors and touch of acidity.

750ml swing-top bottle purchased from K&L Wine Merchants in Redwood City, CA.

Pours heady and alive, with a crackling, large-bubbled head of white that eventually effervesces itself into nothingness. Body is a deep copper gold colour, but very clear. It actually looks rather lively, even when the head has fizzled out. And that's pretty suitable for the style.

Nose is slightly rustic and acidic, with some earthy tones and a slightly savoury honey tone. Some hay comes through, along with a fragrant sandalwood character. Nice.

Taste is bright and light, but masters the acidity with a crisp bitterness so that it's really not that noticeable. Instead, we get more of the earthy overtones, and a late wet grain character that suggests bread dough. Feel is very light, which is suitable—but there's enough complexity to the palate that I'd like a little bit more heft.

Nice brew. Drank in a very spring-like autumn in Santa Clara, CA, and it suited it nicely. Light and drinkable and fresh, but with interest and complexity there when you go looking for it.

Honestly, tasted from the bottle on a sunny day in Paris. Still, light in color yet cloudy. Smells of fruity hops, some vegital and grassy notes.

Tastes immediately of mild roasted malt sweetness, turns to hop bitterness with very present floral bouquet. Possibly similar to a more hoppy Kölsch style. MF is very full and round, almost more than expected for a spring beer.

On second thought, this might be the perfect transition from heavy winter to light summer beers. This is very delicious and highly drinkable. I'll have a few more of these.

Poured a truly enormous head which eventually died down to 1/8" but it really took it's time. Hazy tan in color. The flavor bursts forth not unlike the head - it's a sweet and fruitiness hard to put a finger on but generally like citrus, comes across highly refreshing, and has an oppulent mouthfeel you usually only encounter in beers with twice the alcohol (this was only 6%). Great stuff.

A traditional Biere De Garde may be the most underrated beer in the world,at least in my opinion.Poured into a stemmed glass a honey orange color with a large blooming white head atop.A great mix of vanilla tinged pear, and overripe pineapple in the nose,there is a toasty pilsner malt note as well.Flavors are pretty hefty for the abv%,caramel mnalt mixed with that overripe pineapple,a big drying,toasty,pilsner malt dominated finish.I agree with the other BA who suggested it was maibock influenced,just not as hefty.Couldnt be more food friendly,had it with some applewood smoked chicked and brown rice pilaf.
