Whoa! This is like Mentos in Coke! Foamed up so fast almost shot out of bottle and out of glass. One finger of beer 7 of foam.

After the head settles there is slight ring and no lacing. Golden amber color but somewhat hazy. Not much smell to make note of. I can't get past the carbonation. This is so overly carbonated it is tough to drink, if you can get past the pour.

The mouthfeel is so unpleasant I don't want to drink it. It foams up in your mouth when you sip and hold in your mouth. Biting on your tongue and burns down your throat.

I don't even care about commenting on the taste. Overall they need to fix this if all bottles come out like the one I bought. I am glad I only bought a single.

Bought this when my wife and I stopped by Round Barn while doing the local wine trail and thought this one sounded interesting. With a moderate pour this beer produces a head that is 1 finger in height and is a light frothy appearance. The head dissipates rather quickly to a thin lacing. The beer itself is a deep amber in color and clear with moderate to high carbonation readily visible. 3.5/5 The aroma reminds me of a Vienna lager in that is relatively sweet but not quite as sweet as a Marzen. The sweetness is based on the malt profile with a sweet caramel note as well as a medium toasted wheat bread aroma. Dark stone fruit, in this case dates, come through right behind the caramel and bread, adding to the sweetness. There is an herbal hoppy profile to the nose as well as a bit of grass. No real spiciness comes through, distinguishing this from a Vienna. 3.75/5 The same caramel and medium toasted wheat bread from the aroma comes through on the palate as well, although there is quite a bit of raw graininess to the flavor too. The dark stone fruit present in the aroma comes out somewhat in the flavor but not as much as in the aroma. Grass and herbal hops are noticeable on the back end, providing a moderate bitterness that lingers after swallowing. Significant carbonation burn up front dissipates fairly quickly to a wet, watery feel that persists throughout the profile. Light drying on the back end with a light lingering dryness after swallowing. 3.5/5 Light and watery, with flavors that are strong at times, and undertones at best at others. This beer is definitely indecision at it's finest and obviously does not know what to be. Some sips the flavors comes across really well and other sips they don't. When it's good, it's good. When it's watery, not so much. Very drinkable regardless. 3.5/5

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Very highly carbonated, took a while to pour the glass. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep reddish copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of pear, apple, caramel, toast, biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Pretty poor aromas with strong yeast fruitiness and some light-moderate malt and hop notes; with poor strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, light chocolate, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, light chocolate, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of dark/bready malts and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. I let the carbonation dissipate. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall despite carbonation and aroma problems, this was a pretty solid amber ale. Good balance and robustness of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A fairly enjoyable offering.
