Pours a body thick as night in color. Aroma has that sweet tinge reminding me of creme brulee. OMG, the flavor is so ashy!! I love smoked beers but this tastes like an ashtray mixed with toffee candy. Not very enjoyable and was almost a drainpour.

Small brown head, which vanishes fast, pitch black color. Aromas of burned caramel, chocolate, sugar, an overall very intense caramel smell. Charamel taste is very strong, burned malt, with a smoky finish. It creates a silk, smooth mouthfeel, carbonation is pleasantly low. A somehow fiery, smoky beginning turns into a very sweet, smooth, creamy caramel-chocolate flavor. Finish is very long lasting, in which a neccessary coffee-bitterness is added. Aroma turns even sweeter, while the beer warms up. Chocolate turns more complex, because of the upcoming bitterness at the end, smokieness makes this beer very interessting and a little cumbersome, but not unpleasant. Sweetness dominates the beer, all in all it does remind me of a Creme Brulee.

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter tasting glass.
A= Pitch black with a straw colored head, head dissipates and rings the glass.
S= Very sweet and strong aroma that really smells like an old fashioned cream soda .
T= Get the sweetness at first, lactose, caramel, then a strong bitter finish with burnt caramel, bitter chocolate, espresso. Seems like the bitterness is playing on the "brullee" burnt sugar.
O= Initial smell and first sip was a bit shocking. Smells so sweet but bitterness is what came through strongest in the flavor. Started to grow on me with additional tasting, maybe warming up a bit improved its balance. Interesting beer, could like to sip with dessert instead of espresso or aperitif, but would not want to pound them in the backyard on a sunny day.

Pours black with a very small head.
Nose shows vanilla, soft roast and milk chocolate. Very sweet-smelling.
Pretty similar flavours, heaps of vanilla and milk chocolate notes, a lot of sweetness followed by some astringent roasted malt.

Somehow nailed my favorite dessert taste but kind of screwed it up with a bitter finish...
