Notes / Commercial Description:
A summer sipper built for lawn chairs, lawn games and lawn mowing, Fresh Slice features the spicy, estery flavor profile of Belgian yeast laced with the juicy hop flavors and aromas of American hops.

This White IPA recipe tips the scales with a slice of clementine, a hit of coriander and an 1/8th of...wait, what? This one features a crisp, fresh citrus ripeness deriving from additions of clementine juice and sweet orange peel in the brew process. The first Otter Creek can offering, this is one slice you'll be holding all summer long!

Pours a very small white bubbly head. Brew is a light orange color, pulpy and thick, nearly opaque. Fair amount of sediment in the bottom.

Aroma of Belgian yeast, fresh oranges, must, lemons, rind, clover. Tons of sweet, fruity, fresh aromas in the glass.

Flavor is similar to, but drier than, the nose. Earthier, with rye-like spice. Citrus peel. Nowhere near as sweet as the aroma indicated. Not overly bitter.

Semi dry, decent finish, lively without much sting. Fairly light bodied. Refreshing. Balanced bitterness.

This is a refreshing drink that would work well on a warm day outside, but it's below the standard I've come to expect from Otter Creek's latest series. It doesn't quite have the hop flavor I would want in an IPA, and it's drier and less sweet than I'd like from a Wit. Overall, it doesn't quite work for me, although it's not a bad beer at all.

In a pint glass the beer was a hazy gold color with a nice white head that left a good amount of lace.

Citrus and spice in the aroma.

Lots of orange taste. Some coriander.

Very nice, easy-drinking beer.

I really don't like this beer. Similar to Allagash to me in that it tastes... rubbery... or something. Like a black licorice taste. Can't quite put my finger on it. But I don't like it.

12 oz bottle

Pours near clear, lighter near golden amber, but with a load of floaties doing their thing. Spotty off white head, leaves some low lacing as well as some fine lacing sheets ...too many particles floating for my tastes.

Belgian yeasty sniff, along with lemons, and ripe fruits

Tasty enough with more yeastyness, and Belgian qualities, bubblegum, fruit, lime and wheaty malts...lighter body wise, and fairly refreshing and tasty...nothing amazing, but a worthy warm weather quaffer

Served on tap in a pint glass.

Appearance: Yellow with a very thin white head.

Smell: Surprisingly not much for any scents.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth light to medium bodied. Taste of cloves, hops, and light citrus.

Overall: Not bad, refreshing beer. But not my first choice.
