Golden straw and slight haze, thick white head and great lacing. Some citrus, zest hay, light tropical component, and moss in the nose. Aroma falls off after the pour which I feel is worth noting. Kick of white grapefruit and citrus rinds, some sweet citrus note, and some moss. Not much my body works in leaving that hoppy unbalanced finish that most session IPAs suffer from. Bright and punchy carbonation and a semi dry finish. Bitter finish lingers nicely on the palate. Overall a great session ale, I'd honestly rank this right behind Boat as my favorite.

Poured from the 12 oz bottle into a snifter.
Pours a clear medium to deep honey straw color with a finger of head that dissipates.
Smells really nice good hop presence, some citrus notes.
Taste is really nice. Good hop bitterness and citrus zest. Quenching.
Mouthfeel is really nice, not overlly dry but little to no residual sugar.
Overall, this beer is tasty and is a really nice representation of a low ABV, drinkable, yet flavorful pale ale. Kudos to Mike Gerhardt!

My buddy brought this over. I didn't see the bottling date but it tasted super fresh. Poured into teku glasses. A beautiful clear golden color with slight haze and pure white ample head and decent lace. Aroma is great - citrus and tropical fruits with a bit of dank and pine. Nice. Taste is fabulous, just a bit of malty sweetness and a bunch of citrus and tropical hop flavor, slight bitterness, and an awesome tropical pine finish. Mouthfeel is great, light and refreshing but not thin or fizzy. Overall, I never thought I'd like a session IPA, but this one is fabulous.

Hazy pale yellow with a good sized head that settles to a creamy layer. Smell instantly reminds me of orange creamsicles; a very "colorful" hoppy smell at the forefront with an underlying grassy, scallion, and weed edginess. Oily and fragrant. Flavor is resinous and bitter giving way to fleshy, zesty citrus and a little pineapple. A very fresh, lively hop experience. Super crisp, light feel keeps things crushable as advertised. Otter Creek continues to impress with the hops lately.

A: [4.25] Pale yellow beer. Forms a decent 1 finger of head. The head is white and comprised of creamy dense bubbles. The bottle lists the ABV (4.6%), the IBU (40) and there is a born on date (7/11/15).

S: [3.00] Wet grass. Creamed corn.

T: [2.75] The flavor is one note of pithy lemon rind. Bitter with very few other notes to add to it.

M: [3.25] The body is watery with a dry finish.

O: [3.00] I really like beers from Otter Creek. This one is an exception. This is a relatively fresh bottle so I can't blame that. I just get a flat one note flavor of forced bitter for the sake of bitter. That combined with an uninviting nose make this one very lackluster. There are many session IPAs that I prefer to this one.

True to name, Over Easy has a golden liquid yolk and comes served with a spongy white casing. Good head retention is a reliable indication of skilled hands and good quality ingredients while the light haziness suggests the likeliness of a recipe designed with a little extra character in mind.

Over Easy smells like breakfast alright but, thankfully, it's not eggs! There's such a citrusy, sharply acidic scent you'd think the brewer squeezed a few bags of oranges into the batch. While the juiciness carries over onto the palate, that drying, pithy, peel-like quality is found in the bouquet alone.

"Crushable" is a popular new buzz word in the beer world. Part of me think it's silly. But another part of me likes it insofar as it effectively gets the point across - some beers you can't help but gobble down and immediately reach for another. At 4.6% and a balanced 40 IBU, this certainly falls into that category.

Another reason for this is that malt is also reserved. Not only does it take a step back to allow flavours of grapefruit, orange and rose petal to shine through but it also means you won't feel bloated after one or two. This is a good quality for a beer that naturally lends itself to hot, sunny weather drinking.

Over Easy is a typical pale ale but an exceptionally well made one. For me that's the most important point. I don't expect this style to reinvent the wheel; I reach for a pale ale when craving balance and straightforward refreshment. In that regard I've got nothing to harp on here. Good stuff!

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass

A - Over Easy pours a crisp, hazy sunflower color with a foamy head that leaves some nice lacing along the sides of the pint glass.

S - The scent wafting from the glass is delightfully pungent and crisp. Floral and grassy notes mix in wonderfully with ripe lemon and citrus.

T - The hops from this beer are in full force from the get go. The taste has more pine than the nose, but otherwise it's a further blitzkrieg of citrus and flowers. Definitely seems to be some Citra hops in there if I had to venture a guess. The malt is crisp and crackery - very reminiscent of Pilsen malt. The finish is quite bitter with some more citrus on the palate.

M - The mouthfeel is crisp and bubby. Kind of like champagne.

O - If I had to choose one word to describe this beer, it would be crisp. Everything about this beer is light, effervecent, and uplofting, while still managing to be flavorful and unapologetically hoppy. A very good summer session!

Bottle from Bert's
Slightly hazy light golden color with a smallish stingy white head. Wicked citrus on the nose with lots of grapefruit and some resinous pine to back it up. faint bready maltiness. The flavor follows the aroma but adds a hint of aspirin in the finish. Either I'm coming around to the whole session IPA thing or this is one of the better ones I've had.

12oz. bottle served in a shaker pint. Pours a dull orange with a slight haze to the clarity and a loose, quarter inch, bright white head which eventually settles into a broken slick. Nose expresses citrus rind and a kiss of light, toasted malt. Taste consistent with nose; however, citrus sweetness, while subtle, is a bit more present in the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is light in body with a pleasant, even carbonation and a light acidity. Overall, a solid APA - easy drinking and sessionable.

these just hit town so wanted to try as fresh as possible, enjoyed in a willie becher.

a - brew pours a hazy but transparent murky yellow w a fizzy white head that didn't hang but left spotty lace akl over the side of the glass.

s - nose is ripe tropical resinous hop. watered down...but still holds the magic just laid back.

t/m/o - super impressive session ipa. yes the ipa feels watered down but the flavor profile is good enough to support it. bearing in mind the style, this is one of the better session ipas. refreshing and quenching. Great brew for summer drinking. can't wait to drunk this as the weather warns. dug this one more than backseat burner.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, yellow color with a frothy, white head. Lots of lace. Looks good. Aroma is brimming with musty citrus and some tropical fruits. Easy malt of baked goods. A bit of lemon hops. The flavor is better than most session brews. It doesn't fall apart on the back end like many I have tried. Pleasant citrus and pineapple hop flavors. Pastry and grain malt. A bit of grassy hops and lemony hops. Light bodied. Bitterness is not overbearing like many highly-hopped session brews. This is one of the better hoppy session beers I have had. I'm liking what Otter Creek has been up to.

Pours a very light golden, minimal head and ultra thin sudsy lace scattered about. Pungent citric hops aroma, spicy and peppery and some tropical fruit especially as it warms. Very hoppy taste; resiny, piney and lots of grapefruit. Some bready and yeasty tones and a dry finish. The bitter aftertaste lingers. Light body for an IPA. Drinkable.
I'm not the biggest fan of session IPAs, however, this one is pretty good. Perhaps the bitter hops tone lacks a tiny bit of sweet malt balance for my tastes, however, I liked it overall and can indeed see myself having a session with it under the right circumstances.

If only all Session IPAs were this good

L: Straw colored, hazy with almost a green tint. Fluffy head dissipates quickly to a thin cap. Left nice lacing.

S: Citrus, lemonade, fruit cocktail, vibrant/pungent citra hops. There is a light grainy character underlying the aroma that gives way to that delightfully dank Otter Creek stank.

T: Light body, citrus up front. You certainly get the citra up front. Very light malt creating a somewhat bready under tone. Delightful hop snap with spice.

F: Left my mouth puckered. It gave me that same feeling that I get after downing a lemonade on a hot day. Really refreshing, does not fatigue the pallet.

Otter Creek can do no wrong in my book. This is just another example of a stellar operation.

I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. Smooth, full bodied, slight hop aroma and nice mellow taste. Light in color and slightly cloudy. At 4.6 abv this is a very good session beer.

12 oz. bottle poured into a becker.

Appearance: Pours a hazy gold with a big white head. Heavy carbonation.

Aroma: Floral, hoppy. Some malt backbone.

Taste: Citrusy, fruity. Recalls grapefruit, lemon, some orange rind. Malt sweetness in background. Very flavorful for low ABV.

Mouthfeel: Easy and drinkable. Crushable is right.

Mouthfeel: Very nice, flavorful pale ale. Very curious to see how different this is from Overgrown, as they sound quite similar. Points to Otter Creek for not calling this a session IPA.

Bottle dated 09-15 into pint glass. Straw-colored; off-white head. Fairly highly carbonated. This is citrus (orange) up front, pine resin next, with a little malt presence and some grapefruit in the finish; not overly bitter, medium mouthfeel. Dry finish. A nice, refreshing summer ale - nothing exceptional though.
