Very Good
Daily Dose IPADaily Dose IPA
Notes: Brewed with 2-row and rolled oats to deliver a pale-golden, hazy body and a creamy mouthfeel that showcases a juicy hop profile. A heavy dose of late addition Galaxy, Citra and Mosaic hops shine through the super smooth malt base. A spicy, dank punch of Mosaic hops is balanced by the big tropical fruit and citrus notes of Galaxy and Citra hops.

Picked-up as part of a mixed twelve-pack at Bradford's in Plymouth for about fifteen dollars. My ninth brew reviewed from these guys. Pretty solid brew, @ a great price point.

You can't go wrong with Otter Creek. Nice malt and oat background with pleasant hop profile. Not any oak cask taste required for a true IPA, yet Lives up to it's name with the hops!

Very average. Leans towards malty and muddled. Free Flow is a better choice except I can never find it anymore and when I do it's not fresh. Would not purchase this again.

Stopped at Whole Foods in Fairfax on the way back from hiking today and was impressed with the choose your own sixer selection: this bad boy was only 99 cents, which is always a must buy for me.

Hazy yellow in color with a big white head. Flavor is medium hop bitterness with a lot of citrus and biscuit malt. Nice balance. A little watery in the aftertaste. This is uncomplicated and very easy to drink, if a touch simple.

Pours a hazy and very light copper color with about a finger of head. The nose and flavor have and interesting combination of tropical, piney and dank hoppiness. The malt bill is hearty especially for today's IPAs. The body is hefty for a 5.5% offering.

I was at Silantra last night for supper when I saw this in the cooler & since it was their last one, it came home with me for drinking, rating & review. I went to bed fairly early so that I could watch Olympic hockey this morning.

From the bottle: "A daily driver built for the long haul, Daily Dose IPA is dripping with the hop flavors you've come to expect from the OCB Crew. Tune in. Hop on. Enjoy this cosmic IPA."

"Brewed with 2-row and rolled oats to deliver a pale-golden, hazy body and a creamy mouthfeel that showcases a juicy hop profile. A spicy, dank punch of Mosaic hops is balanced by the big tropical fruit and citrus notes of Galaxy and Citra hops."

I Pop!ped the cap & even though I was performing a slow, gentle pour, I was still getting a light haziness. Oh well. Once it was nearly completely decanted, I gave it an in-glass swirl to raise two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with good retention that left nice lacing in its wake. Color was a slightly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose smelled like my idea of a modern AIPA - grapefruit, pine & tropical fruits in a pleasant mélange. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium, but kind of slick & silky on the tongue. The taste was likewise a mélange of modern American hop flavors, but with a requisite amount of bitterness to offset the tropical fruit flavors that tend to be too sweet for the style. If you don't like grapefruit bitterness, this had tropical fruitiness and vice versa as well as a light pine resin taste. Finish was dry, but on the cusp of semi-dry. It was quite drinkable & knowing that it comes in CANs, I will be revisiting this one in the future.

A: Pours a hazy yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a decent cap that leaves good lacing

S: Citrus and herbal hops up front along with a touch of pine and some fairly neutral maltiness

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the herbal and citrus hop notes and then goes into the malt and a light-moderate bitterness. Finishes with lingering herbal notes

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: Feels more like mix between a hoppy session and an IPA that doesn't quite land in single pale territory, if that makes any sense. Maybe that's why they still call it an IPA? Regardless, a solid brew that is very easy to drink and won't wear your palate down too quickly. Good choice for an all-around any-time drinking beer

12 oz bottle

A light straw golden color, slight haze, zippy carbonation and a high sitting, light white foam cluster, bubbly and chunky with nice lace.

A sour and tangy hop aroma, herbal pineapple, charred golden wheat and grains and a nearly Belgian earthy and sour yeast thing. A freshly picked and crushed hop aroma is impressive. Very fresh and bold with unique undertones.

The first thing you notice is a very crispy and lively mouthfeel and clean bite. Very fresh and jazzy taste as well, light golden malt giving off wild honey and dry wheat flavor's, earthy fresh grass and subtle pineapple comes from the hops. The hops then in a white pepper with big, sweet fruity undertones that seem to go on and on. A light, juicy flavir that has some very complex waves of hop flavor.

Overall, a very easy breazy summertime style ipa with super criepy malt flavor's and some subtle, but very sneaky hop complexities. Endless summer indeed.

Appearance: Pours a pale gold with hints of orange. Some definite haze, but nothing crazy and nowhere near turbid. Solid head, retention, and lacing.

Smell: Really nice. Big and bright. A nice mix of orange citrus juice and zest, tropical fruit, some cattiness, and some dank. Orange citrus the dominant aroma component.

Taste: Similar. As a lover of orange citrus, this is right up my alley. Waves of zest and juice with some mango, grass, and tropical fruit. Very balanced bitterness. Light malt backbone with just hints of bready character. Impressive at 5.5%

Feel: Feel lends to very strong drinkability. Light to medium-light bodied but with a creaminess thanks to the oats that keeps it from feeling thin or wet.

Overall: Another very strong hoppy offering from Otter Creek. Full of flavor at 5.5% and something I'd be happy to enjoy many of in a sitting. Great price point as well.

Bottle from Market Basket
Slightly hazy deep yellow and it foamed when I opened the bottle. Lots of citrus and juicy tropical fruits with hints of sweet bread and rind. Not bad.

A: Poured from the bottle into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is a chill-hazed dark yellow or apricot with a small whitish head.

S: A tad bit skunky, with a big dose of what I think of as Mosaic hops - some tropical fruit, a touch of grapefruit peel and a bit of cat pee.

T: Good lighter IPA - modest foundation of crackery malt is followed by tropical fruit, grassy hops and a lemony bitterness on the finish. An easy drinker that's full of hop bitterness more from the tropical fruit family than citrus.

M: Nice feel to this one - slightly lighter than medium in heft, with modest carbonation that provides a bit of bite but not sharpness.

O: Very solid. Picked up the single bottle at Price Chopper, but I'd be willing to buy this in bulk as a good summer IPA if the price was right. . . .

Citrus bomb in aroma. Very dank in flavor with a little offputting metalic bitter finish. Rather thin in body. A decent light ABV heavily hopped IPA. Could use some more malt balance to round out and give more body. Still a solid beer however.

Look- pours a cloudy light orange, 1 finger off-white head. a little lacing

Aroma- intense orange and mango with bready malt at the end

Taste- Orange and mango with firm breadiness under that, finishes with mild grapefruit rind bitterness

Feel- fairly light-bodied, crisp

Overall- very enjoyable "light" IPA at 5.5%. Nice fruity hops with clearly defined flavors somewhat balanced by breadiness.

12oz can. Pours a slightly hazy burnt yellow with an inch plus of frothy head. Some lacing. Fruity aroma of citrus and tropical fruits along with some melon and herbal hops. The taste is more melon and herbal hops than I expected along with a fairly present malt base. Melon, tangerine, and herbal/grassy hop finish with more toasted malts. Fairly bitter. Body is heavier than expected. Overall, a decent Session IPA I'd buy every so often.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped 05-04-17. Sampled on June 24, 2017.

Slightly cloudy looking yellow pour with a lingering soft white head.

Nice aromas of tropical fruits such as orange juice and tangerine and a lower sensation of white bready malts.

The body is soft and around medium. Also smooth.

The taste brings out the same orange/tangerine fruitiness but there is a kind of herbal mildly bitter bite to finish it off. Decently done.

Can to becher pint glass, the appearance was a soft murky orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Sly messy lace.
The aroma had a mild juicy fruity candy quality hitting upon a light grassiness. Some citrusy hops but quaint.
The flavor was moderately sweet smooth with an even lighter bitterness. Aftertaste was that juicy candy fruitiness.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied, seemed to sit just a touch under with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. Finishes with a little bit of that juicy candy fruit.
Overall, there's so many AIPA's out there and while I live in Vermont, though this is good for what it is, it's really not one I tend to crave.
