Drip Drop Coffee StoutDrip Drop Coffee Stout
Notes: Brewed with the fair-trade organic, medium-dark Tres™ blend of beans from Vermont Coffee Company®, Drip Drop features a full-bodied flavor profile rich with slightly sweet notes of chocolate and caramel derived from a heavy dose of dark malts with a touch of brown sugar to reveal subtle notes of plum and vanilla.

The aroma is highlighted by notes of coffee, chocolate and a touch of roast with minimal hop notes in the background.

Big coffee flavor, which I love, but the mouthfeel is thin, there’s little to no head even when poured aggressively and it’s a bit bitter for my liking. Drinkable, but I wouldn’t buy again.

Very deep roast flavor, as dark brown in the glass as you can get without being black. Found this beer thin-bodied, and without much substance. Mild without being smooth.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a very dark, almost opaque, dark dark brown with a modest light tan head. Initial impression is a lot of coffee, a little dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Mouthfeel is way too thin for my concept of a stout - OK for a porter, maybe, but the mouthfeel gets in the way of everything else. Finish is consistent - coffee and a touch of chocolate. Quite drinkable but not what I expected.

A: A coffee pour has a healthy two finger walnut colored head that was moderately lasting. A good collection of macro bubbles cling to the bottom surface of the vessel. A thin film lacing hangs around.

S: Medium coffee roast strength on the nose. Some dry powder creamer, with hints of dry chocolate. Earthy bean bitterness, roasted hop flowers were moderately lasting.

T: Creamy vanilla french roast flavor is silty wit a slight fire charred bitterness. Oily and fresh roast, has hints of dark chocolate with a mid-range coffee strength. A slight hint of burnt flowery hop flowers finishes out.

M: Soft and milky feel for the mouthful shows almost no signs of carbonation texture.

O: Overall a creamy, milky rich coffee stout. Good drinker, moderately entertaining, though weans a bit on the finish.

poured into a pint glass via draft

color is a deep dark brown

smell is sweet creamy coffee

taste is a bit more bitter, but still heavy on the coffee

low carbonation and thin mouthfeel

the mouthfeel is the one thing holding me back from rating this higher..I know ita a low ABV stout, but wish it was just a little thicker

Can to sniffer.

Dark black, small off white head. Thinnish.

Aroma is mostly strong coffee.
Taste is also mostly coffee.
Thin feel.

Ok. Lacking complexity and any other flavors besides coffee.

Pours with about 3/8" head with an aggressive pour. Fades almost immediately to a thin ring of tan foam. Aroma is mostly coffee, but fairly light. Immediate coffee flavor followed by a little sweetness. Slight char, chocolate - reminds me of eating chocolate covered coffee beans. Mouthfeel is thin but creamy - pretty decent, I wouldn't turn one down.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1 inch head. Smell is strong of black coffee. Taste is of coffee, some light cream, little else. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a smooth and decent beer, but a bit of a one trick pony.

Autumnal, great nose for a coffee stout. Otter Creek does Stout well. Now in cans. (returned and
a) Pours dark black, with a dense half finger head, abundance toffee lacing.
s) best part: large roasty, fall earth and leaves, chocolate chips, espresso, hop.
t) Big flavor too, nothing overwhelming general well balanced expression of roast malts, coffee, chocolate, hops grass, fall earth and leaves.
f) medium bodied, dry yet creamy, ample carbonation. Missing a smoothness found in the best.
o) Otter Creek scores a top coffee stout here.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Coffee is prevalent on the nose and in the taste. Enough roasted malt to remind you it's a beer. Low carbonation and medium-light body.
Good coffee presence but the body was lacking. Very much enjoyed it.

Pours jet black with a khaki colored head, some lacing. Smells like coffee, cacao nibs, damp hay. Tastes like coffee, toffee, mild hop presence. Feels a tiny bit viscous for a low ABV stout. Overall not bad. Would have again. Also have to give Kudos to Otter Creek for using organic coffee !!

I want to love coffee stouts as much as I love coffee, but as with most - this is for people who take cream and sugar with their coffee. Needs more dark roast/espresso flavor and a more bitter finish for me.

On tap it pours pitch black color and had a 1-2 finger foamy tan head that faded slowly and left minimal spotty lacing. Weak looking for a stout, but decent overall. Aroma was coffee, roasted chocolate malts, burnt coffee grinds and roasted grains mixed with a little sweetness. Tastes like it smells with the additions of cocoa powder, chocolate milk, light char and more roasted malts. Rich but not over the top, this was very smooth, light and easy to drink.

L: Almost entirely black, with some dark brown at the bottom of the glass. The head is beige, small, and dies away fairly fast; but a thin ring remains, leaving spotty lacing.

S: Medium to dark roast coffee; slightly nutty, but leaning smoky and roasted. Moderately coffee presence well-balanced against malt character. Bitter chocolate, cacao, and burnt toast, with just a hint of vanilla.

T: Follows the nose. Moderate coffee character of medium/dark-roast black coffee, roasted and borderline acrid. Dark chocolate, bitter cacao, and burnt toast. Not much sweetness here, mostly just roast and bitterness. Black coffee and earthy bitterness lingers.

F: Medium-light, moderately carbonated. Drinks easily, but grows a little watery.

O: A decent coffee stout.

Pours a deep dark brown color with a finger of beige head. The nose has mild roast and some nice hoppiness. The coffee is clearly present in the flavor but I would hesitate to call it bold. The body seems about right for the style and ABV.

black in color, thick off-white creamy head. nice coffee aroma, and similar flavor. bitter chocolate and roasty coffee without being too acidic or harsh. mouthfeel is nice but body is a bit thinner than I'd like.

L — Pours a fairly dark black body with a two-finger tan head produced with aerated pour. Decent retention and some lacing
S — Stale espresso, char, cacao powder, smoke, cinnamon
T — Instant coffee, ash, char, pear, and a hint of brown sugar
F — Very strange mouthfeel. Starts with a very aggressive burnt character that is not at all supported by the watery body. It’s lightly fluffy at first but then falls off mid-palate. After that it’s just a stale coffee mess with some weird sour fruitiness as well
O — Low ABV coffee stouts are just not my thing I guess

Thick, frothy beige head. Rich blanketing lace with definitive thicker rings in between. The liquid is dark ruby brown where no light shines through the edge.

Definite black coffee aroma.

The nitro pour makes this a smooth, rich, and creamy stout. Again, the coffee absolutely dominates the entire taste. Modest "carbonation" as expected. The finish and aftertaste are simply more black coffee. If you like your stouts like an iced coffee with carbonation, this fits the expectation.

Came from the nitro tap a deep cola color with a cascading medium beige head, very caramel latte-like in the nose with hefty roast and sweet almost buttery caramel coming thru, moderate chocolate as well.A full creamy nitro feel is in my opinion usually good for the style and it is here.Dark roast coffee upfront on the palate with more chocolate coming thru than in the nose, some more of the sweet caramel comes thru in the finish.A smooth creamy well rounded coffee stout here.

I wasn’t expecting much but this turned out to be an excellent low ABV coffee stout.
Dark chocolate color, 2F head.
Excellent aroma: not over roasted coffee like in many coffee stouts. A medium to light roast aroma which transitions well to the taste.
As the beer warms up, sweetness settles in with the chocolate.
Light body which suit suits the coffee and light bitterness.
Excellent beer. Low ABV.

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch tan head over a dark brown body with some lacing. Nose of roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. Tastes of mocha! Okay feel and overall a pretty enjoyable experience. Cheers!

Pours a mostly jet black color with a modest tan head. It quickly dissipates and leaves a thin ring collar and some lacing.
In the nose there is the typical assortment of roasted malt and coffee like aromas typical to the style; muted, not particularly intense. Later on, there is a touch of dark fruit that adds a more unique perspective.
I’m liking the soft and smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied with a roasty flavor and slightly bitter finish. Flavors of coffee, vanilla, dark caramel malt and bread. A hint of plum adds a subtle fruity tartness and a unique twist.
A nice, ultra smooth and drinkable stout.
