Stovepipe is an phenomenaly well-brewed, highly drinkable porter. It is super smooth and carries subtle coffee/cocoa flavors that become more intense during the aftertaste. Overall taste is not overbearingly strong and mouthfeel is much lighter than your average porter. Alcohol level is average and well-balanced for this readily available porter.

I love imperial porters/stouts as well but if that's what you're looking for, look elsewhere. This pairs great with steak, bbq, or any hearty meal.

I highly recommend this beer, especially in the cooler months but I think you'll find it enjoyable year-round.

Ice cold and on draft is best for this beer(I always prefer draft) if purchased from bottle be sure to drink from glass (pint) for full satisfaction.

Pours a nice dark browish amber with a creamy tan head. The smell has hops, roasted malt bitterness, and some chocolate?. This beer is loaded with flavor. It starts with roasted malt bitterness but then the bitterness changes to the hops which make themselves known very well. There is also som sweetness that I can't quite pick out. Maybe bittersweet chocolate but I am not sure. The Moutfeel is creamy and clean and the brew is very drinkable. This is definitely going to merit being bought again by me. A very nice porter.

A: Quite dark. Almost in penetrable.

S: Coffee ish. Some burnt hints. You can smell the malt.

T: Very tasty. Intense. Bitter and smoky. Lots of burnt flavors.

M: Pleasant with an acidic punch. Not overpowering. Medium carbonation.

O: One of my new favorite porters. Very surprised by this beer and I recommend it.

This is a lovely porter with a nice, sweet smell and black colour. However, I suggest you try it mixed too. With a lager, the colour is still blck. Perhaps a cream ale would give it a nice, balancing creaminess. As it is, it's a very drinkable porter. It has a bitter taste upfront that rounds out its otherwise mild taste. The bitter is followed by caramel notes. And the aftertaste is enjoyable and long lasting- enjoyable enough to want another swig.

Had this beer for the first time in Boston at the Barking Crab. Reservations ment nothing, so we sat at the bar and ordered appetizers. I asked the bartender his recommendation and afterwards I thanked him repeatedly. This beer is dark and rich, but paired well with oysters. Stuck with the beer all night. Fantastic!

A - Dark brown to black until you hold it up in the light. Wonderful reds and mahogany outline and highlight this smoky sexy delight

S - Spiced smoked meat, roasted malt

T - lots of smoke but not so heavy that it overwhelms. A burnt coffee flavor. a slightly bitter finish with a campfire that hangs around between each sip

M - Creamy with just enough carbonation.

D - So very drinkable, but take your time. Its a hearty porter and gets better as it warms.

Great smokey aroma, kind of sweet but not overwhelming.

Very nice head light tan very sweet to the taste, hung around for a good part of the drink.

The taste was very Smokey a little sweet but not to much kind of like a good BBQ sauce but not syrupy. Also flavors of roasted malts
and a burnt Smokey taste lingerd.a nice warming end flavor stuck with me when it was over can't wait for another!

A- Poured a shiny dark brown in my trust Woodstock pint glass with beige/brown head that didn't stick around for the ride but left some lacing on the side in its memory.

S- At first classic malt. Then, rich and dark toffee and coffee combo. Pretty nice.

T- My first 5.0! After each cleansing-of-palate I was full-on attacked by this beer's arsenal of flavor. Dark chocolate, toffee, fresh coffee, with the perfect nuance of sweetness all combine for an intense yet very handleable taste here.

M- I would have expected a porter like this to be a bit fuller, but it's pretty OK. Nice amount of carbonation.

D- I was halfway through the beer before I realized I should slow down. I'm loving this beer right now.
