12oz into a tulip.
Ruby in color, darker than red. Very translucent. Head leaves some nice lacing.
Smells of earthy hops and mid-color crystal malt.
Flavor is basic, but fine. A malty base with caramel flavor, good dose of earthy, grassy hops. Minor citrus profile. Not as sweet as some red ales. A decent, slightly hoppy red ale.
Medium mouthfeel. Adequately carbonated.
Like most of Otter Creek's offerings, this is a fine beer, with neither any outright flaws nor anything to make it particularly worth seeking out. But I enjoyed drinking it, and I would drink it again, for sure.

On the bitter, and coppery; but overall hearty.

Poured chilled in ale glass at home
A: dark red, cloudy, very thin head;
S: stale/metallic smell
T: Perhaps out of date, since I'm drinking this in May. Not very malty or sweet; prominent hop profile; baking soda and aged grapefruit, relatively intense; medium complexity; astringent
M: despite the small head, this has a nice buzz
Not a great beer.
