Chocolate with very mild roastiness underneath. Deep brown to black with a decent head. Watery fore prepares you for dissapointment, but a strong roastiness and chocolate, coffee notes save it. Very tasty and true to style porter flavors here. The watery start prevents it from greatness unfortunately

On tap at the Broomfield, CO location.

Poured a deep mahogany color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel and chocolate. Tastes of caramel, chocolate and light roast. This had potential, but they aromas and tastes just, for some reason, seem to 'mesh'.

A: dark dark brown with a light thin off white head and very thin lacing.
S: has the usual chocolate and coffee smell but with and added faint pine in the back.
T: creamy chocolaty taste with mild coffee and pine notes in the aftertaste.
M/D: light bodied smooth but not thick like most porters. Easily drinkable due to the lightness and flavor.

Doesn't quite look right. A darkish brown color with tan, soapy head.
Smell of coffee with outdated cream in it. Some chocolate and roasted malt as well.
Tastes kinda like a porter, but not very rich. Coffee and chocolate dominate, yet it's not a good mix. Something is odd. Perhaps the lines weren't clean.
Could barely finish this one. Too thin, too off-center in the porter world. Perhaps a cream-stout?

Had both a few mugs at the bar and took a gallon home to enjoy later. I know this beer gets pretty bad reviews but I like it while having dinner.

The appearance is like any other porter really, dark black color (like used motor oil) with a dark brown head that goes away quickly.

The taste and smell are light, but refreshing. Has a good chocolate and coffee taste. While eating you really don't want a heavy beer. If this was thick like a RIS, it would be over filling.

The mouthfeel is light also and thin.

Drinkability is great. Nothing is overpowering and everything just works together.

Bottle obtained from the brewpub and consumed about a month later. Pouors a half finger tan head over a dark brown-red liquid. Smells biscuit malty, chocolate, toffee, and sour roasty. Tastes puckering sour to start. This never goes away, but it does settle to nearly acceptable levels. Sweet begins to rise during the middle and chocolate comes in late...with some coffee roast. Potent cherry sour makes a re-appearance in the end leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. This black patent is just too strong for me and the beer is going down the drain. In fact, I wonder if this beer has flavors from an awful infection. Md mouthfeel and moderately carbonated.

Poured a medium amber color with a small frothy head. Smelled of maybe some really good malts, well hopped and perhaps some biscuit hints in there. I believe this to be the same recipe as I had a Big Horn/Ram. They look the same and the places look the same, beer under same names so it probably is. It is a decent Amber.
