Taste: Dry, this time might have got a little light struck in bottle, saline bitter funky. Gold and clear in color with a
soapy head with a medium body.

Hearty yellow pour for style, 1/2" white head. Aroma had those zesty noble hop feels, I'm down. Almost hoped for some skunk in this one.

Taste didn't pop as much as hoped for, but its a pilsner, its mild, it does its thing. Highly carbonated, light pilsner malt, I mean, this is better than average for style. Average bitterness and noble/Saaz hop impact.

330 ml green bottle with a cryptic production stamp. Served in a lager glass.

A: Clear amber with a moderate size head that fades to a durable white top coat.

Smell: Euro hops dominate; faint bready malts

Taste: Better than the aroma suggests with more malt, especially up front. Mild+ bitterness.

M: Medium but softer (natural?) carbonation than usual for style (in bottles).

Overall: a decent Czech style pilsner.

Golden promise of goodness.

Standard Euro Pilsner that falls slightly below the first flight. Light gold color, pleasant hops accenting the malt core, good texture and drinkability. Goes down easy and matches well with food.

Decent enough and worth seeking out to carry along on a pheasant hunting trip.

Pours clear, gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is grain, grass, honey, and faint hops with lingering sweetness. Average to slightly below average Czech pilsener. Not a bad beer but, I have others that I prefer much more in the style.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Cereal grains and some light malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes with cereal grains, and crisp.

Overall a nice pils, not anything spectacular as far as flavor (but I guess that just adds to it's drinkability); because I know I could knock back a solid 12 pack (on a hot summer day, that is). Definitely stays true to the pilsner style...light, crisp, and clean.

Although the nose is initially cereal grains, the taste is all pilsner. Lightly hopped, rich golden color with soft, creamy head. Medium weight mouthfeel and some lingering malt/hops on the palate. Easy to drink and highly enjoyable.

L: It pours brilliant gold with a 2” persistent white foam cap that produces light lace. S: Has a spicy, earthy nose with light grains, medium hop aromas, medium low malt T: Medium low malt with a light sweetness with traces of apple. Spicy, medium low hop flavor, crisp medium to medium high hop bitterness. F: Medium light body, medium carbonation. O: A decent drinkable beer. No traces of skunk but the level of apple was a bit odd.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Cary, NC. This beer is a clear golden color with a large white head. The aroma is full of malt and hops, very inviting. The flavor has a sweet malt flavor with some hop bite. A very good Czech Pilsener.

From a chilled bottle:

Good head. Lots of light foam and good retention for the style. Nose is tangy. In the mouth, surprising sweetness that balances the tang. I would say that it is very typical of some local czech beers in that regard and very different from the typical bottles that make it across to the states. Very fresh tasting. Nice beer.

If you want to try a Czech Pilsener that's different yet still true to the style, I'd recommend you find a well-traveled bottle.

This one is not too impressive, thought it would be more similar to a nice Czech style beer. It is a slightly more entertaining Heineken. Pretty basic overall, not bad just not a standout. If you are looking for a slight bump above Heineken it may work.

Pours a moderate yellow with a medium head.
Skunky aroma but that fades fairly quickly.
Crisp and slightly bitter, this is a non descript pilsner.

An acquaintance brought this over. He didn't know any better. This is part of the large weasel piss collection beer is known for to the masses. Have it and forget about it.

A- Deep golden crystal, with a big frothy head.
S- Sweet malty aromas, with Saaz hops clearly present. Earthy smell.
T- The quintessential Czech (though Slovak) pilsner! Soft inviting taste, sweeter and more comfortable than a typical German pils. Very sophisticated delicate taste, of which IPAs seem like barbarians compared to.... Super-balanced hops to malt--very characteristic of the style.
M- Not watery, not heavy, just right.
D- An excellent, very drinkable, but sophisticated beer! Highly recommended!

This is a very typical Pilsener. Bright in the glass, easy on the palate, with a bit of corn sweetness and Saaz hops at the end of the tongue. An enjoyable alternative to Pilsener Urquell.

Stale smell of old grains and below average in taste. Not my style of beer. Maybe the bottle was old or spoiled somehow but I won't try it again for sure.

Bottle purchased at Beers of the World in Rochester, NY.

Pours a golden, slightly pissy yellow, with active carbonation, and a small head with no lacing.

Smells pretty skunky. Don't use green bottles! There's some lager yeast, and a hint of sweet grains. Doesn't smell all that hoppy, which is what I would expect from a Czech pilsner.

This is pretty skunky and hard to drink. Underneath that wonderful flavor, I get a bit of sweet grains, an almost corn-like flavor, and the slightest snap of leafy hops. Meh.

This is light bodied, with a skunky sweet mouthfeel, and a higher level of carbonation.

This isn't all that good. I don't know fresh it is, but no beer of this kind, or really any kind, should be put in green bottles.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pilsner glass. Had a golden yellow color and a clear consistency. There was a large, foamy, fairly long-lasting head. OK lacing.

S: A slightly skunky aroma with hints of hops and malt. Nothing overly special.

T: Tasted of a moderate amount of hops, malt, an earthy quality, and the aforementioned skunkiness. A very average flavor. Not offensively bad, but pretty forgettable.

M: A decent amount of carbonation with a somewhat slick finish. Light-bodied.

O: Nothing overly interesting here. Golden Pheasant is a typical, mass produced beer. There are worse examples of a Czech pilsner, but there are certainly better ones.

11.2oz green bottle purchased at the Total Wine in Spokane Valley, WA. My first Slovak beer. There’s some sort of production code stamped on the rear label, but no true freshness date. From the look of the label, I'm guessing the Slovak brewers of this beer have some serious Pilsener Urquell-envy. Maybe they were involved in brewing it when there was still such a thing as Czechoslovakia.

Poured a dark gold color verging on amber, with a small, bubbly white head that dropped quickly.

Crude, earthy malt notes and some mild floral hop scent greeted my schnozz.

What flavor there was to be had was mildly hoppy and bitter, with some earthy malt notes. No skunky taste, but not much else, either.

Fairly light bodied, with a watery mouthfeel. I think the carbonation was a little too low.

An inoffensive, but otherwise not very interesting Euro Lager. Now that I’ve tried it, I don’t think I’ll need to have another one.

Sampled last night on 7/22/14.Comes in a pretty 11.2 ounce (330ml) bottle. Af irst I thought it was another selection from Pilsner Urquell. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a 'Dinkel Acker' small glass boot.

Pours a pretty gold in color with a thick foamy white head that lasted a while. Decent amount of lacing was seen also when sipped. Lots of streaming bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Since most of brews that come in a green bottle is on the 'skunky' side for some reason, this was NOT the case with this one at all! The aroma is of malts and hops for the most part. More going on with the taste as there is a slight nutty flavor in there also because the malts and hops. A very light hoppy finsih that doesn't last. Great taste and easy to drink!
