Easy access and easy to find.

Not much of a selection though, especially considering that this is a college town and it's very near to campus. If you need something other than BMC you might find a couple of Belgians and maybe some Spotted Cow but overall a disappointment for a guy who was trying to find diamond in the rough.

The woman who helped us was not very knowledgeable but she was very friendly and courteous. Prices seemed reasonable.

I finally walked out of the place with a bottle of Ommegang and handed it off to my buddy who was a BMC drinker. The trip wasn't a total waste because that one bottle of Ommegang was the beginning of a slow conversion and now, I frequently have conversations with my friend about new beers we've each found. Another BA in the making!

I went to check out this place to see what they had for beer. Its sort of a smaller place. They do carry domestics, but they also have some craft and foreign beer as well. You can mix and match your own six pack. They do store the mix and match beers warm. Ive never had an issue with any of their beers. They also have a decent selection of liquor. It is on Water St. so im guessing their targeting more of the college scene than for beer geeks. Im sure if they didnt carry something that you wanted, they could look into getting it from a distributor.

Overall, Stave and Hoop is a very convenient place to buy liquor. Located smack dab in the middle on Fourth and Water, S&H is a locally owned booze shop. The owner is a really nice guy, sampling wines and beers often. The staff there, although mostly college students, are always willing to help and offer any advice that they can.

The selection is good, but not spectacular. There aren't many "top-shelf" liquors/beers but they do have a few behind the counter. There isn't the best selection for small micros but the small amount will do. When it comes to New Glarus or Gray's Brewing or any other small, Midwest-based breweries, they are fully stocked.

The prices here are good and competitive vs. the cost of driving around town. If you are in the area and need a 12-pack of Spotted Cow, it is $1-2 more here than at a large store, primarily just because of convenience. It is close to a lot of student housing; what can you expect?

Overall, Stave & Hoop is a great place to buy beer, liquor and wine. The staff is great and the prices are decent. Don't look here for a HUGE variety among those "sleeper" beers because you won't find them here.

This place was found amongst a street full of drunk college kids at 4 in the afternoon, which I can somewhat appreciate since I've only been out of college for a few years now. We went to Water St to check out some local shops, but convinced my girlfriend to let me have a look in there.

Not a horrible selection, but not the greatest. The selection of craft beers was small, but I found a few gems that I can't get in my neck of the woods, which made the stop worth it. We can't get Dark Horse, Dogfish Head, nor Founders in Minnesota. I picked up a few single bottles from those breweries such as Crook Tree IPA and Trip Ale from Dark Horse, Red's Rye and Dirty Bastard from Founders, and Festina Peche and Burton Baton Oak-Aged IPA from DFH. I also saw some New Glarus stuff, including Wisconsin Belgian Red and a few assorted Oktoberfest singles and some Belgians.

Not a bad store, but mostly for the college kids looking for 30-packs of Miller Lite. It was definitely a good find for someone like me looking for beers that aren't available in their home state. I also got a 10% discount for buying a six pack of mixed bottles.

Decent prices, although I saw a few unknowns for $20/bottle. I probably won't visit this place again if I'm in the area, as I'd rather find something with a bigger selection, but it was definitely worth the stop.
