I was able to try this beer whilst visiting the Shoreline brewery. The appearance was nice, hazy amber with decent carbonation that provided a foamy white head that laced. the smell carried sublte cirtus notes. Taste had decent body and had a wheat taste with some citrus present. This beer reminded me a little of Three Floyd"s Gumball Head. Decent beer definitely could session, worth a try.

Had on tap at Shoreline.

A- Pours a light hazed golden yellow color with light orange hues. One and a half finger white head shows good retention before capping the beer. Ringy lacing on the sides of the glass as I drink it down.

S- Lots of Amarillo hops bursting through this beer from the start to the finish. Citrusy aroma mixes with a light wheat note. This is a very hop forward wheat bursting with aroma.

T- Light wheat flavor in the front comes out for a second before it gets crushed by lots and lots of citrusy hops. The middle of this beer has the wheat come around to balance the hops bite out a little bit. Some light green apple in the background gets covered up with well...more Amarillo hops. I guess that's what to expect when that's the only hop in there.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Amarillo hops destroy the palate and this lasts long into the aftertase with a hint of wheat and alcohol. Off balanced for the style being more hop a baby IPA. Medium drying on the palate from alcohol. Clean tasting overall.

D- I personally really enjoyed this beer. Although, it was not really brewed to the style it worked out well for them. The ABV is low and well hidden. Shoreline did well with this.

Served in a 16oz pint glass at Shoreline 10/26/08. Thanks to HeatherAnn for the assist!

A: Served a clear, pale gold color with tiny bright-white head. Sadly, not much lace was left behind.

S: Bright and bracing aroma of amarillo hops and some toasted wheat.

T: Once again, the pungeant amarillo hops step to the forefront. Also quite assertive is the toasted wheat. Lingering in the background (at first, but becoming more apparent as it warmed) were light, fruity flavors of green apple, pear, and apricot.

M: Refreshingly dry and toasty. Peppery and bitter with a welcome hoppy stickiness that allows the hop flavor to linger deep through the finish.

D: A superbly drinkable midwestern APWA along the lines of Gumballhead and Founder's Dumbohead. Great stuff!

Had this on tap at Legends Alehouse on the Notre Dame campus.

Appearance: A nice orange/amber, slightly hazy with a foamy head that left some nice rings of lace.

Aroma: You would think this was brewed with peaches or apricots. But it's all Amarillo hops! Very nice and interesting aroma.

Taste and Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, mid level carbonation. Some nice wheaty tang followed by a strong flavor of peaches or apricots. Very fruity flavor. But there is no fruit to be found in this beer. It's the hops. Finishes ever so slightly on the sweet side.

Notes: What a unique and pleasant beer! Their use of Amarillo hops for aroma and flavor produced a magnificent American style wheat ale. Very drinkable and definitely worth going back to.
