750mL bottle courtesy of hoppymeal.

Pours a deep, clear brownish amber with a small bubbly head that recedes almost immediately to a thin collar. There are some legs hanging down the side after each sip.

The aroma is fairly heavy on the bourbon, lots of vanilla and even some oak. There is also some brown sugar, caramel malts and raisins.

The taste is very sweet as well with the brown sugar and sweet malt forming the backbone. There is quite a bit of barrel character in the taste with vanilla, coconut and bourbon.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and very slick, almost thin, but not quite. The carbonation is very low but still seems to be enough to carry the flavors.

This a very good BA barleywine and exceptionally drinkable for a 13% ABV. It's a tad light on carbonation but not too distracting. Very good.

750 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. Not sure from when, probably 2015 or 2016, had 6/3/17.

Pours a very dark amber, mostly opaque, with a one inch head and no cling or lacing. Aromas of bourbon, plums, dates, raisins, figs, malt, grapes. The taste is similar but more malt forward, then bourbon, figs, dates, plums, oak, grapes, light cherries, and a fair amount of alcohol. Fairly smooth, a good medium to full body, well carbonated.

Great aroma, an enjoyable, traditional, English Barleywine. Had a very high price point, though.

I was gifted this for my birthday in April but I waited for the perfect time to open it. Last night was the perfect time. When it was open it smelled delicious. It poured beautifully in my tulip. The taste was amazing and just what I had hoped for....barrel aged deliciousness. This was perhaps the best birthday gift I've ever recieved.

2010 vintage, 750 ml yellow wax capped bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown with about a half inch light tan head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing at all. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like vanilla, bourbon, caramel, brown sugar and wood. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some raisin, nuts and molasses noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. This brew just got better and better the longer I drank it, I think it's a good barleywine. Kinda pricey at $21.99 a bottle, but I was glad I got to try this one.
