Very nice beer. Pours a dark amber, almost orange in tint, with a small head and some lacing. Smell is pleasant and it has a wonderful mouthfeel. Taste is fairly complex with a hint of sweetness progressing to a bitter rye flavor on the backend. Worth a taste for sure!!!

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass at fridge-to-cellar temperature.

L – Deep amber color with a 1-finger tan head. Nice retention with some good patchy lacing. Decent amount of carbonation bubbles.

S – Very layered and complex aroma with toasted and caramel malt, spicy rye, and a nice hop bouquet with tropical fruit, orange, floral, and marijuana notes. Smells very nice.

T – Starts off with sweet caramel malt, progresses to a spiciness and toastiness from the rye and malt, and finishes with a nice bitter zip from the hops with mostly citrus and floral flavors. A little bit of the rye spice continues to shine through at the end, as well.

F – Medium-bodied with good carbonation, a sticky and spicy mouthfeel, and a dry, bitter, and spicy finish. Floral and citrus hop bitterness and rye spice linger for a nice amount of time.

O – This is a really nice beer. It smells phenomenal with a great hop profile that is layered with toasted and sweet malt and spicy rye, and the taste follows this great aroma well. This is a very drinkable and tasty beer. Founders strikes again.

Pours a dark amber with some very fine lacing. Scents of floral hops, rye, and citrus. Taste is similar to nose with a perfect balance of floral hops, rye, and a hint of nuttiness. Mouthfeel is really fantastic as its not too heavy, not too light - it's just right. I wouldn't hesitate to pick this up again, another hit from Founders.

12oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter. bottled 6/??/12.

pours out a nice deep reddish orange color, copper like, hazy, with about one finger of off white head, big bubbles. decent head retention, fades to a thick ring and spotty foam after 5 or so minutes. not much lace to speak of.

some nice grapefruit citrus and floral hops, slightly pungent resinous. some caramel malt and a bit of rye detectable, but more of a hop forward aroma.

sharp grapefruit citrus hops balanced by rye graininess and a bit of caramel malt. finishes with a sharp bitterness from the hops and a little spice on the tip of the tongue from the rye. as it warms, it becomes more and more balanced.

medium bodied. lots of lingering hop bitterness left on the palate.

pretty much the staple of the rye PA style like most founders beers. recommended, ill definatly be buying more of this.
