Red's Rye has a reddish orange body with about a finger of off-white head. The head is thick and creamy with good retention and some nice lacing.

The aroma is packed with hops that are followed by some caramel malt. I think I can pick up a touch of spicy rye, but I might just be trying to hard to find it. Either way, Red's Rye smells a lot like an IPA.

The flavor is still packed with slightly bitter, grapefruit-flavored, American hops. The caramel malt also makes an appearance. However, the rye makes a significant contribution to the flavor of Red's Rye, adding a great spicy taste and making the beer pretty good.

The mouthfeel is good; medium bodied, moderately carbonated, but with a long finish that really helps to bring out the rye.

Red's Rye is pretty drinkable. Overall it is a pretty good beer.
