A- Thin off white head on a light cloudy red body.
S- Big grapefruit and tangerine hops come through. Light rye hints in the back along with a malt body.
T- Follows the smell pretty closely. Has a bit bigger rye flavor to it though. The rye along with the grapefruit linger strongly in the aftertaste. Has a nice bitterness to it and is very dry. It is more of a grapefruit rind that comes off strong.
M- Medium to full body with medium carbonation.
D-It is good. I don't think I would hunt for one but if I saw it I would pick a couple up.

A - Pours a foggy copper with a cream-colored one finger head. Dissipates to a nice cap and sticky lacing.

S - Rye bread and citrus hops dominate the aroma. Sweetness shows up as well.

T - Sweet rye breadiness turning to citrus, especially grapefruit, on the swallow. Bit of burnt toffee as well. Strong bitterness in the end and aftertaste, but not too heavy.

M - Medium body bordering on heavy, medium carbonation.

O - A good IPA overall, nice flavor and aroma profile. Has nice malty flavors while still giving in to a nice hop bitterness everyone loves. One of the better IPAs that I have had.

Appearance: Reddish with some suspended yeast and a minimal white head that recedes fairly quickly.

Smell: Strong biscuity hops just punched me in the face!

Taste: Follows the nose perfectly, but with just enough malt backbone to balance this out. This hop pr

Mouthfeel: Full mouthfeel for the style despite the low abv.

Overall: Founders just does the right thing, can't knock this beer, even if it's not my favorite style. Then again, I could say that about most of their beers.

12 oz. bottle with an interesting and strange face of an old man on the label. No freshness found.

The ale poured a slightly hazy, reddish and copper color; a nice off-white head settled down to a film on top leaving elegant lacing on the glass.

When I opened the bottle, I smelled a very unique aroma of citrusy hops and rye, with the rye seeming to overtake the hop aroma. Unfortunately, most of the aroma was lost once I poured the ale into a nonic pint glass. Still, that first sniff from the bottle was amazing.

The taste begins with a straight forward hop bitterness, but unlike most domestic hoppy ales the citrus or pine flavors are overcome by the strong rye flavors. The addition of rye gives it is very crisp and refreshing taste; very unique, but I have not had much experience with tasting rye beers.

An almost full-bodied beer that leaves a satisfying rye bitterness on the tongue with moderate carbonation.

It is difficult to believe this ale is 6.8 percent alcohol as it is such a refreshing, smooth ale. This ale is appropriate for any time of the year. I would love to have this on tap at its most fresh.
